I could have talked to you directly, but then when I suspect someone has said one thing quite different from what they are presently saying today based on the letter next to the name of the guy in the highest office, I tend to either go searching or ask someone else if they recall. That's because if I simply ask the person directly, they either deny, evade, or demand "links".
For about 8 years, Russia was supposed to be our worst enemy, our "greatest geopolitical foe" (Romney 2012), and so we were supposed to vote right-wing because Obama was "weak" and gave them Crimea. At least, that's what tons of people on the right were saying. And now, here on this sight, tons of people on the right have spent the last two years saying about Russia whatever Trump has said, which is generally that they're not doing anything wrong to us, we should be friendly with them, they're to be trusted over our intelligence apparatus because of conspiracy theories about deep states, yadda ****ing yadda. And I really don't believe that somehow, the debate boards I visited during the prior years were against all probability filled with a completely different demographic of conservative.
It's another big pile of partisan hackery. If at least one thing these people said is true on the subject, either Russia is our enemy now and they are wrong to defend Trump, or Russia was never our enemy and they were wrong to attack Obama.
