President Harry Truman on Socialism

Did he want government control of money and banking?

Friedman wanted control of money supply but not banking. A child knows this and yet you have to ask??

And you've said that socialism is when government controls something, right?

Arguably the wisest quote every made by a president. It's no wonder he mentioned this in the age of McCarthy (1952).

He was a brilliant man and a Scottish Rite Mason. His Blue Lodge was probably in Missouri.

so are you a socialist despite the 200 million dead?

Actually he was a filthy racist, but I don't expect ignorant leftists to have any idea what they're talking about.

Yeah and Johnson once called The Civil Rights Act "the ni**** Bill; what's your point?

Here's your conservative darling Ronnie Reagan with Nixon:

Ronald Reagan's Racist Conversation With Richard Nixon - The Atlantic

The day after the United Nations voted to recognize the People’s Republic of China, then–California Governor Ronald Reagan phoned President Richard Nixon at the White House and vented his frustration at the delegates who had sided against the United States. “Last night, I tell you, to watch that thing on television as I did,” Reagan said. “Yeah,” Nixon interjected. Reagan forged ahead with his complaint: “To see those, those monkeys from those African countries—damn them, they’re still uncomfortable wearing shoes!” Nixon gave a huge laugh.

So your far right-wingism lets you down again.

Why don't you take the time to read before you regurgitate silly things.

what's your point?

You called him a "brilliant man", so I'm guessing you must find his views on race to be compelling. Richard Spencer likes socialism too, in case you don't know.

Here's your conservative darling Ronnie Reagan with Nixon:

I'm not a fan of either of them, as they were both rabid drug warriors. And to stay on topic, the drug war is socialism, as it is public ownership/control of the means of production regarding certain politically incorrect drugs. In fact, Nixon's signature drug law is called the Controlled Substances Act.

I don't pay any attention to his views on race: he's dead.

And now you're off on a socialism kick with no ascending argument.

WTF?

the drug war is socialism,

not at all socialism is govt control or ownership of business. Do you understand? Objecting to people going around stoned is just common sense.

Do you hold yourself up to some sort of free market advocate?

Question for you: Who owns your body?

So your far right-wingism lets you down again.
Founders were far right wingers yet created greatest country in human history by far. Where were we let down???

Do you hold yourself up to some sort of free market advocate?

conservatives support the free market if that's what you are trying to ask?

generally speaking I do. I can see this is going to be too subtle for your simple mind.

Cool ad hom, bro? I love ad homs. They smell like victory.

Can you elaborate on your qualifying condition, "generally speaking"? When would you not own your body, generally speaking?

well if a woman is pregnant then another life is in her body and the situation changes. Too complicated for you?

Good point. That's two bodies. I asked if you own YOUR body. Not when you're pregnant, but when you want to smoke pot. Do you own your body then? If not, who does own your body?

dear, anyone who imagines Friedman a socialist wins no victories

I know commie money when I see it. Government control of the money supply is pretty much straight up commie. You can't argue that it's free market, that's for sure.

when you want to smoke pot. Do you own your body then?
I think it's too complicated for you. We don't actually own our bodies since we never purchased them to gain ownership the way way we normally gain
ownership of things. Too complicated ??
