Pregnant while in power.

it is not obvious to me that this strawman is sarcasm and all the other ones aren't it seems consistent that it wouldn't be I can't be inside your mind.

but you didn't. A rebuttal would be explaining why one or the other wouldn't be neglected you didn't do that. It seems you became butthurt because someone didn't agree with you. That is not a rebuttal.

.
why don't you think women can make money?

lol, quote those words where I said that.

lol... how embarrassing for you. I do not have to back down from your strawman because it's not my statement.

you seem desperately obsessed with this to the point where you can read and understand nothing. Everything to you is about the patriarchy Boogeyman. No matter what I post you see this. I'd suggest that you are diluted and fixated you should seek help. Perhaps it's a persecution complex or an inferiority complex.

first I don't have to defend my opinion I have the right to it. And your mental disorder doesn't challenge it. It's actually quite interesting to watch you formulate straw man fallacies and act as though those are my opinions. But then again I'm a behavior science major and such things intrigue me.
I could care less how you take anything. I post here because I like to discuss things with rational reasonable and stable people. When I encounter extremist ideologues that attempt to twist everything into some sort of attack on their a ideology, I tend to really do nothing else but mock them.

You believe there is a patriarchy and that everyone in the world is contributing to this paranoid delusion you have. Outside of watching you squawk when provoked there is no reason to discuss anything with you at all. It's like discussing Evolution with a creationist. It doesn't matter how I describe it it's always wrong because God made the world 6000 years ago or last Thursday or whatever.

Your ideologies controls your mind so not arguing with you. You are what I consider a clone or a homunculus incapable of independent thought. So why on Earth would I give a s*** what you think.

Putting aside all these bull**** responses of yours. What you have said indicates that you are still thinking along the conservative christian tradition of the nuclear family. where statements of yours such as they are not parenting if they get others to do it because a family is where ine parent works while the other staus at home taking care of the kids.

Where as what the prme minister and many others are doing is more inb the thinking of it takes a village to raise a child.

Your rant here can not be called rational. There more an emotional backlash to my pointing out how foolish your comments are.

To some extant yes. I know that more traditional view sticks in your craw but I couldn't care less. It works.

where statements of yours such as they are not parenting
Quote where I said that people arent parenting please.

I posit that I didn't say any such thank thing that you just misinterpreted something I said or misrepresented it.

I'll give you the benefit of the doubt if you cam come up where I stated such a thing I'll happily correct my statement.

But I will not tolerate misreprestation.

Where as what the prme minister and many others are doing is more inb the thinking of it takes a village to raise a child.
I take no exception to that approach.

Your rant here can not be called rational.
You are not the arbiter of what is rational.
There more an emotional backlash to my pointing out how foolish your comments are.
What comments? I contest that I said the comments you say I said. I posit that you fabricated a strawman. I'll happily eat my words of you show me where I said what I said.

I admit to being a bit presumptuous in my estimation of your ideological bias, just a bit. You did whine about how I hold a more traditional view. But suggesting things are wetting just because they are traditional is just as illogical as suggesting they are correct because they are traditional.

So pointing out that I tend to think more traditionally does not indicate that I'm wrong.

Believe it or not I am not a member of a traditional family myself, so I don't argue for tradition for the sake that it's traditional.

So claim that all you want I know it isn't true.

being pregnant in office is no different than having young kids while holding office. i don't have a problem with it.

Might be a problem in a world a bit different than ours?

Can you see why being prime minister would interfere with being a mother? Which job is more important?

You'd be surprised how much women can accomplish while nursing a baby.

I think it would be really cool if we got to the point where children and infants are not relegated to a time and place. This prime minister may be the poster child for that. Nothing to me is more important than family. And a mother that can care for her child while working is admirable.

It's up to Ardern what she can and cannot accomplish. I'm sure if she slacked enough in her duties there would be a non-confidence vote in parliament. That's how the system works. Each new mother is different in her own capabilities. Some need a lot of time off work while others get right back to it.

A bunch of men debating the merits of pregnant women in politics just shows the ignorance of men, frankly. I'm sure Ardern is well aware what's at stake. She was intelligent enough to become the leader of a country after all.

One of two things will be neglected the country or the child. I don't think that the fact that this person does what their body is biologically meant to do should be empowering that's retarded. She got knocked up it's happened 7 billion times in one lifetime. If she is a good leader that should be inspirational not empowering. Her cheeseman's don't really do anything for other women or anybody.

It is empowering when a person decides that they are going to do something worthwhile.

Would you say that if a man had a newborn baby at home? Or needed a surgery that would require some time off?

Would you say that if a man had a newborn baby at home?
yes absolutely. If I had a child of my own I would be a father and I have a hard time thinking about what that would be like.

Or needed a surgery that would require some time off?
if you need surgery you need surgery you take the time off if they won't give it to you quit or resign. You can always get another job you can't get another life.

I don't know how people work in government that is a profoundly demanding job there's not enough money on this planet to get me to do it I don't have a child of my own. There are better people than me to do that job my perspective is skewed because of that.

Unless she has health issues, why would people want or expect her to quit?

Why is that question never asked of male politicians with young children? Her husband is being the stay at home parent while she works, so the child's needs are not going to be neglected.

Agreed. Absolutely ridiculous to say one or the other will suffer.

Women are released after 24 hrs in the hospital...she can be back working online immediately.

The baby? Infants are aware of very little except getting fed and changed. Anyone can do that during a workday...just like for any other working mother.
