With covid, access to public bathrooms is very difficult and a lot of us are not comfortable using porta-potties or restrooms in public parks.

Does anyone have any recommendations on portable toilets you can buy that would fit in your car and easy to clean/dispose of?

Thanks, really appreciate it.

one trip to Lowe's for a bucket with lid .. sized to your comfort.
one trip to your favorite store for a handful of plastic check out bags...
bag in the bucket, utilize, tie, place in the bucket, install lid...
don't forget the Charmin.

I've actually seen such a thing in camping stores, but its been years.

I'd try camping stores first.

Or Walmart: GigaTent Pop Up Pod Portable Shower Station And Privacy Room - Walmart.com - Walmart.com

Assuming you're looking for the privacy part. Porta potties are easily found

They've made chemical toilets in portable versions for a long time. I've never tried one, but I know folks who decked out a van with one to make a runt camper.

Here's a few models.

I thought this one was the most original and actually functional if you are a man.

My 6 year old granddaughter fishes with me. We took a 2 1/2 gallon bucket that pool tabs came in and cut a pool noodle to line the rim for comfort. Luckily she has only had to pee thus far lol.
Most of the ramps have outhouses. I have a lysol wipes and gloves to clean the seat ahead of her use. If they are trashed she uses the bucket.
If you are an adult, tp and a tree..... I am probably rednecker than you, though.

The images on the labels of ^those products are priceless!

Anyway, to the ^OP's question, if you are uncomfortable using porta-potties or public restrooms, and you are in or near a park, I'd say to take a little walk in the woods, find a private place within, and take care of business there.

Personally, i had to go to the bathroom at a new client's home, and it was a #2 emergency. I went inside, quickly located the bathroom, and rushed to get started, but when i opened the lid, i noticed that it was already clogged with a "package" left by someone there before me! The client wasnt home, but she left her front door open for me. I didnt have time to leave and go drive "somewhere" else, and I wasnt going to go searching around upstairs, so i just took care of business. But then i couldnt find a plunger ANYWHERE!!

I had to text her and give her "the news". She said that another contractor had been there earlier, and one of them had used that toilet, and apparently left it clogged without saying anything! So i had to walk through the woods to another client's home to get a plunger! I came back and dealt with it, then she informed me that toilet has been very easily clogged since she moved in last year, despite it being a brand new home(first finished home in that new development). Needless to say, my other client DIDN'T want the plunger returned! Lol

But an entire RV like ^that would probably cost over $100,000. Nonetheless, your idea provided me with inspiration. Many folks cant afford a large, self propelled RV, or even a large towed RV camper. But there are some very small campers for a fraction of the cost.

It was at this point that i had an epiphony.....What about a small, special purpose towed bathroom!? I've already looked up small campers, but I'll look around to see if anyone has invented a towed toilet yet.

I found it!! All it took was a search, but surprisingly someone has actually invented a special purpose, towed bathroom that you can hook up to your vehicle and bring with you! Its even got a sink and cabinets, etc... Lol.

For people on the go - and when they need to go

This one is priced a little high, but it works.

I worked out of a van for many years, 5 gal bucket, garbage bag, and this snaps on top. Throw a handful of newspaper or paper towels in the bottom first.

Ha ha ha! I wouldnt have expected to see a product like that, but hey, why not! It USED TO BE EASY to find a public bathroom at a fast food place, but not now!
