Trump was in Moscow in 2013 for the Miss Universe thingy. The only phone he had access to was unsecured.
At the time, Mr. Trump had no more "right" to a "secured" telephone than any other "tourist" in Russia. However, Mr. Trump was rich enough to have been able to afford encrypted satellite telephone calls - if he wanted to spend the money on them.
How this man passed through the FBI background checks he needed to become President is a mystery.
No it's not, he merely showed his birth certificate ([assuming it was asked for], that would have proven that he was over 35 years old [assuming that that fact was questioned] and that he had been born in the United States of America [assuming that that fact was questioned]) and also provided a list of residences that showed that he had lived in the United States of America for fourteen years (assuming that that fact was questioned).
There is no prohibition on a person who is a paid employee of an enemy power running for political office in the United States of America, so - even if Mr. Trump had been being paid directly by the SVR RF, had

embroidered on his underwear, and received direct instructions from Vladimir Putin, he would have legally been able to run for, be elected to, and hold, the office of President of the United States of America as long as they were a "natural born citizen", "over the age of 35", and had "resided in the United States of America for 14 years".
Now possibly you might think that it would be a "good thing" for a candidate for the office of President of the United States of America to be "security cleared" before they can be elected, but that would also mean that ALL of the potential candidates would have to be "security cleared" prior to their respective party's nominating convention and would also mean that the sitting President would have control over those "security clearances" and could exercise that control to delay the completion of the "security checks" until such time as nominations for the office of President of the United States of America had closed.
That, of course, would mean that there wouldn't be any need for an election because there would be only one candidate.
Of course, there is still the two term limit, so, after 7 years and 11 months in office, the President would name his successor - who would be "elected" (since there wouldn't be any opposition name on the "Presidential Ballot"), and who would obviously be of the same political party as the outgoing President.
Alternatively, the REAL power could be held by the Vice-President (with the President being merely a sham) and there are no term limits on the office of Vice-President, so that person could stay in office forever.
He is a walking & talking threat to national security. No wonder he is playing so nice with Putin.[/QUOTE]
