Trump wants to blame everyone but himself. Maybe he should have listened to everyone who told him not to fire James Comey at the time.
Maybe he shouldn't have lied about his meetings with Russians.
Maybe he shouldn't have lied about his affairs and payments to porn stars

But I guess it's easier to blame everyone else.
 
I don't believe Trump can successfully ax Sessions. This has been a slow moving train wreck for Trump.

Trump's uncanny and consistant MO of only seeing what is right in front of him and attacking that is in part responsible for the state he is in. Opportunities to act go down the drain daily for him. The GOP Senate has been protecting Sessions from day one and as Trump ignores and drives Independents away, the Senate is even less inclined to support a Trump move on Sessions now.

Its clear that he has never told any of his various teams of lawyers anything like the whole story. Where Trump is today is not Dowd's fault or Cobb's fault though they are not towers of legal intellect. Dowd and Cobb and especially Dowd really started to get nervous about that at the end of their stay because they began to wonder about their own exposure. Rudy never knows anything and Sekulow does not want to know anything. We don't see anything from Flood because he is going to be the McGahn replacement and as counsel for the President Flood is simply concerning himself with a subpoena battle before the SC.

Just about the most obvious sign that Trump is in trouble and knows he is in trouble is that there is not a single attorney that has tried to represent him that he has leveled with. Do we really think Dowd and Cobb kept telling Trump that this would all be over soon because they knew the depth and breadth of the corruption and criminality they were dealing with or was that whole story based on the thin "fact" set that their client gave them?

It's hard for the DoJ to be improperly influenced when it appears to essentially be dormant.

The GOP in the Senate won't give him a new AG. So he is stuck with this one. That is what I mean by "successfully".

Politically he can't fire Sessions as it will leave him without an AG. As much as he dumps on Sessions, Sessions has done the things he wants him to do as draconian as many of those things have been. So Sessions isn't going anywhere.
