I was just getting ready to post those numbers. When an act of congress fundamentally changes how our society works, I wish it wasn't a partisan vote. Take these for instance, I don't agree with the acts, but I am happier with the voting:
Social Security:
Senate:
Democrats 60 – 1 – 8
Republicans 16 – 5 – 4
Other 1 – 0 – 0
Total 77 – 6 – 12
House:
Democrats 284 – 15 – 20
Republicans 81 – 15 – 4 – 2 (2 guys were present…and so it begins)
Other 7 – 3 – 1
Total 372 – 33 – 25 – 2
Medicare:
Senate:
Democrats 57 – 7 – 4
Republicans 13 – 17 – 2
Total 70 – 24 – 6
House:
Democrats 237 – 48 – 8
Republicans 70 – 68 -2
Total 307 – 116 - 10
Patriot Act:
Senate – 98 – 1 – 1, with a Democrat Nay and a Democrat Not Voting.
House
Republican 211 – 3 – 5 so 5 no votes
Deomcrat 145 – 62 – 4
Independent 1 – 1 – 0
Total 357-66-9
