Bill gates is decades behind on that prediction. I read sci-fi books about viral pandemics when I was in grade school 50 years ago. I also watched microbes destroy the Martians in War of the Worlds as a kid. Bill gates is 50 years behind the times if not over a hundred years. We saw what the flu could do in 1918 and still did not even have enough masks for our health care workers. When comes to being prepared we were in the stone age.

Of course a democratic president could have snapped their finger and billions of masks would have appeared along with a vaccine, cure, and hundreds of thousands of ventilators. Hell they could have did the old Bewitched nose twitch and saved everyone. Unfortunately Trump was president and no democratic Governors or leaders wanted to upstage Trump so they just let thousands die.

It’s almost as if they aren’t worried about Wuhan coronavirus at all and instead see it as an opportunity to fulfill their dream of ousting our duly elected president from office. Never let a crisis go to waste being the mantra of the power-hungry left, after all.

Democrats and the media have also falsely claimed that Trump slashed the CDC’s global pandemic work. They “reported” that the CDC was forced to cut its global efforts from 49 to 10 countries.

While this move appears to have been proposed at one point in 2018, it never happened. In fact, the CDC was instead provided more funding that year for its global pandemic efforts.
Not only did the CDC receive greater funding in 2018 but has every year since, and Trump is requesting even more CDC funding for FY2021.

Protecting the American people from a pandemic is part of national defense and that's precisely why he was able to use the War Powers Act. It's a war of a different nature, nothing less.

I do find it amusing that Obama is being blamed for not replenishing the supplies. I mean, he should have, but why isn't trump being chastised for doing nothing about it himself for three years. Espectially after the admin dismally failed a pnlandic response drill in 2019, partly due to that supply shortfall.

They did not rely on the lies from China. They did what we should have been doing for the past 20 years preparing for the inevitable pandemic. So...no specifics, just complaints with no articulated foundation.

And I havent really followed BillG's take on this at all except for his support for the WHO, which, if you know anything about how the WHO works, is nothing new or surprising. And more recently his predictions on vaccines. Are you disputing him on either of those subjects? Please...tell me...how so? Explain.

I have a personal epidemiology library of about 50 tomes. I'm happy to share it with you, I have it in a spreadsheet, linked to Amazon descriptions, since half are hard copy and half are on Kindle. The history of epidemiology is very familiar to me and it goes back much farther than 100 years. As do predictions re: "what is happening." :roll:
