Not guilty

The first President in history to have a bipartisan call in the Senate for his removal.

Congratulations to Trump, the sycophants in the Senate Republican caucus, and the old white people who spend all day carrying his water on political forums.

LOL. That's the best spin you can do? How about this, no Senator throughout history has ever voted against their own president in an impeachment trial (including Democrats) so it is obvious that this impeachment trial is the fairest one we have had in our country's history. How do you like them apples? And don't give me any crap about how there were no witnesses and no evidence when Schiff and company took three long days presenting their evidence, including 17 witnesses.

Sort of sucks to be a whiny assed liberal today.

Take heart in knowing sooner or later, you'll get your commie president. Just not now. *grin*

Funny thing is, Trump will go down in history as the most squeaky clean president we have ever had, due to numerous investigations that have all found notta.

Of course this was gonna happen. There was no possible way that Trump was going to get impeached by the Senate, not with Republicans having a majority. I still think that this was a giant waste of time, and it's only going to serve to make Trump's approval rating shoot up.

And it has, not to mention millions upon millions of dollars flowing into the Trump coffers.

NOT GUILTY!!!!

Yeah, that just happened. Let it sink in and understand Trump is still your President;

God Bless America and all the patriots who love our country.

Remember. Trump is guilty of making the phone call. Trump is guilty of asking Zelensky to investigate the Bidens. Trump isn't guilty of committing a crime let alone a high crime nor high misdemeanor nor treason nor bribery.

Why do you think it will be a catalyst that leads to improved approval ratings for Trump

I dont think anyones mind was changed

Actually, his approval ratings are up.

Did you sleep through 2007 and 2008 when the economy collapsed and even took down the economies of countries like Ireland, Russia, Mexico, Hungary, the Baltic states? I assume by your comment that you weren't one of the thousands of people that lost their jobs and their homes. Every sector of the global economy works together, the nose dive began affecting stock prices as well as decreasing the income and net worth of many large companies. There was this domino effect, people were laid off, and with no income from that vast amount of newly laid off workers, the amount of money being spent in the economy plummeted which pulled the market even further down. As with anything else, rebuilding is always more difficult than destroying something and it caused a long, lingering period of low economic growth that had spread worldwide.
But did you die?

You probably slept right through the formation of the housing crisis in the 90s instead choosing only to see blame for 'the other guys'.

Forget it. There is no tomorrow for you. Your worst nightmares will come true.

While Trump's legacy most now include him on the short list of only three Presidents ever impeached, Trump became the first POTUS in an Impeachment trial to ever have a Senator from the President's own party to vote guilty on an Article of Impeachment. The Republican Majority in the Senate assured an acquittal. Trump's acquittal reminds me of other infamous defendants whose acquittals resulted from the idiosyncrasies of their respective trial processes. Those defendants include O. Simpson, C. Anthony and G. Zimmerman.

Please join me in applauding Republican Senator Mitt Romney for voting to convict on the Abuse of Power article! I also want to give a shout out to the junior Senator from Alabama, Doug Jones, a member of the Democratic Party and up for reelection this cycle. I thank both men for displaying the utmost integrity and honor today with their courageous votes!:applaud

So, now you are saying that this Senate impeachment trial was the fairest and most bipartisan impeachment trial in US history.

How old are you? Nixon was never impeached. That makes you over 150 years old. You also don't know history very well. In every impeachment throughout history, no Senator ever voted against their own party's president. So, you could argue that this impeachment Senate trial was less partisan and more fair than all of the others.

I'm a hell of a lot older than you think I am, that's for sure. Richard Nixon resigned this is true. He resigned because he KNEW the Senate had the votes to impeach him. I know you won't know what it is, but Richard Nixon had what no republican politician in the senate has, and that's integrity. That little bit of integrity that Richard Nixon still held onto is what made him resign rather than go down in history as the second US president removed under impeachment.

For your information, Nixon resigned in 1974 not 1870.

Republican senators have ignored the evidence already available, refused to even look at new evidence and have basicly admitted trump was guilty.

They are afraid of trump and his deplorable base. They want to keep their phoney baloney jobs.

It is a sad time for america. Unbelievable the a despicable individual like trump is president of the united states. Even more unbelievable that he wields so much power with impunity.

Republican senators

In every impeachment trial of a US president no Senator has ever voted against a president of their own party, including Democrats. So, what you are saying is that this has been the fairest, most impartial, and most unbiased impeachment trial in US history.

Republicans think they've won. Just you wait until a Democrat takes office. Spoiler alert: It's gonna bite the Republicans and a lot of Americans in the ass. I won't forget that's who I have to thank when a Democratic President uses executive power for things like...GUN CONTROL. Keep gloating.

What I can't wait for is 2036 when A democrat is in and the Republicans have a majority in Congress and immediately look to impeach Madame President by lying and saying she colluded with Iran t influence her election and when that didn't work, taping a phone call she had with Cuba about possibly making them a satellite of the United States if they would send her some Cuban cigars. The Republicans would claim that a high crime and a threat to our National security by making cigar smoking by females cool.

It started with a crime. If Trump didn't commit a crime it would have never started.

LOL. But you guys have made it clear that no crimes need be committed to impeach. You went out of your way to make that point. Which crime did the two articles of impeachment accuse Trump of?

But did you die?

You probably slept right through the formation of the housing crisis in the 90s instead choosing only to see blame for 'the other guys'.

Forget it. There is no tomorrow for you. Your worst nightmares will come true.

So if people didn't actual die, everything was fine?

Your comment assumes that Trump was impeached over nothing which is a lie. It boiled down to who thought the offense was impeachable and make no mistake about it, there WAS an offense.

Which crimes did the two articles of impeachment accuse Trump of?

I really cannot understand how someone could actually think this is some kind of *gotcha* to celebrate. Everyone knew this was coming. The point was to rightfully condemn Trump's actions with impeachment knowing full well he has the GOP's soul in his pocket, and let them try to sell their craven and nigh-treasonous protection of the corrupt bastard to the voters in 2020.

Is it fun to celebrate corruption, sin, and villainy?

Trump is going to win in 2020. All the fool democrats suceeded in doing is solidifying his base and pushing many Independents and moderate democrats toward voting for him. The economy is outstanding and most people will vote with their pocket books, that is just a historic fact. Democrats look childish and petty and I'm willing to bet they will continue their attacks which will just make the voting public come to doubt their motives even more. When you start advertising that you are going to push for impeachment from the moment the man was elected it seems like all politics and nothing else. Most Americans are tired of it.

The only hate is coming from the GOP against Romney. No wonder you accuse "leftists".

LOL. So Nancy ripping up Trump's speech wasn't hate? Oh yeah, I forgot. Nancy is a good practicing Catholic and doesn't hate anyone, accept Trump and unborn children.

And how did that turn out? Things are OK. The world didn't come to an end. We still have Democracy. The economy is far better now than it was then.

Remember. Trump is guilty of making the phone call. Trump is guilty of asking Zelensky to investigate the Bidens. Trump isn't guilty of committing a crime let alone a high crime nor high misdemeanor nor treason nor bribery.

but but but, you don't need a crime. All you need is a House vote of 218-217, because whatever the House says is impeachable is impeachable. It doesn't have to be a crime. And Trump is guilty of so many things.

But did you die?

You probably slept right through the formation of the housing crisis in the 90s instead choosing only to see blame for 'the other guys'.

The world came to an end and rose up like Lazarus.

Go enjoy your pity party. You bore me. We are done.

I'm so glad. I was tired of watching you chase me in circles.

Wow. Here I was thinking you were over 150 years old and now you say you are a lot older than you think I am. I'm probably older than you think I am but I must confess I am not over 150 so you've got me beat. It would be interesting to post a poll asking members if they thought Nixon had "integrity". How do you think lefties would vote on that?
