I'm fine with stating in law that it is wrong to persecute a person for being different, and that the law will not tolerate it. I'm fine with some social teachings on the topic. I just hate all the hypocrisy involved.

the fourteenth amendment gives non-heterosexuals equal protection under the law. i'm glad that the SCOTUS decided that way.

The sad thing about this is it shows both the left and right are not grasping the "gay pride" thing. It really has nothing to do with pride in being gay but rather pride in being open about who you are. I fully support a straight pride month because most folks who are celebrating it are being open about being assholes. As a fellow asshole myself, I am always happy to see other assholes getting off on being assholes. The left gets self righteous about it, but really who cares? There is more to people than who they bump uglies with so no need to be affronted by an obvious right wing trap to make you look like intolerant pricks.
