No federal charges in "noose" NASCAR incident

Yeah, **** the Confederate flag.

Not only that. This event specifically. Whatever the apparent noose turns out to come from or be, sports media is giving Nascar a gold star for how it was handled.

I'm going to assume that NASCAR asked the FBI to investigate.

I have no idea what went down in the garages and maybe Bubba had reason to be concerned but the way this blew up was insane.

Here's a video of a walkthrough of the garages at Talledaga and you'll see "nooses" hanging from damned near all the garage doors. Having something like that makes it a whole lot easier to hold the rope as you're pulling the door down.

I watched the video, and I don't see "nooses" or even ropes hanging down from the doors. But I do understand that if you broke the the "T" handle from the original rope, tying a loop would be the laziest thing to do.

Well, look at it this way: NASCAR has had quite the positive branding change over the last couple weeks.

About time too.

Now if I can start associating better beer than Busch with NASCAR, I just might watch it. Or Busch can step up their game and rebrand too.

I knew about the garage door rope two days ago. Saw pictures. The only thing I didn't know is what the "noose" looked like, since none of the media would present a picture of it.
Well, thanks to our dedicated FBI investigators, what some of us suspected two days ago is correct.
The only question now is why didn't anyone in NASCAR...why didn't any of the drivers...the mechanics...you know, the people who see those garages every day...realize the truth? Seriously...it shouldn't have taken the FBI to figure this out. Hell, Bubba has been around race tracks for a long time...why didn't HE realize the truth?

Did NASCAR deliberately go along with this "racial" thing for their own benefit?

I believe so. They are in the process of re-inventing themselves, being "woke" (grin) and all that ... maybe play some rap music and rebrand themselves as fast'n furious in order to appeal to a new "clientele".

In recent years, there's been thousands and thousands of racist crimes. We never hear the name of victims. 99% of claims are real and racist crimes should be fresh in everyone's mind. We'll hear the same handful of names. Over and over, from the same people. People ignore 99% to pretend the 1% validates a racist perspective.

Anyway, we should be happy with how Nascar dealt with the issue and it appears there may be a rebirth for a "sport" I've never understood. I hear (sports radio in the car) many drivers were together for the anthem and it was a good race and afterwards everything was cool.

So, it turned out not to be a noose (or one from some time ago). Isn't that the best case scenario. Unfortunately, some would like to add this to their handful of names waved about every time something racist happens.

I also don't think we can ignore when it was happening. This was coming as a disturbing trend of stories about Black men being found hanging from trees at the same time that we were still dealing with the George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, etc etc etc murders and protests.

We shouldn't lose sight of the fact that the suspected incident did not in fact occur--because that is important, but we should also recognize why everyone was on alert and why Bubba was so emotional and why NASCAR and his fellow driving teams rushed out to support him as they did.

There are more racist fans than black people total. Nascar cannot come out on top in that swap. Nascar's reaction was about the future of the sport. It's about casting aside a handful of deplorables to keep the sport alive.

I can kinda understand how some people might see that as a conspiracy.

Seriously? You didn't even see ropes? Let alone nooses?

Go to 3:23.

The tied up loops in the bay door ropes were everywhere.

Bubba did not find the "noose", by the way. He only found out after the fact, at least according to what I've read.

That doesn't sound the least bit unreasonable.

I have no idea how this story originated but DAMN it blew out of proportion.

There's no Funky Buddha car? (A local brewery of national renown)

Well regardless, NASCAR's support of Bubba is commendable.

Considering that nobody has seen the "noose", not even Bubba himself, and the crew member who "discovered" the noose is a "unnamed sources" guy, I'd say that my assumption is far from being a conspiracy.

"... NASCAR President Steve Phelps said a crew member discovered the noose and then informed NASCAR, and a small group of senior leaders then got together to form a plan. Phelps said he was the one who informed Wallace about its discovery. ..."

Black men who killed themselves to make headlines. No different than mass shooter studying columbine and leaving behind a faux radical online persona so they will make headlines too as otherwise people wouldn't noticed they were dead.

They all hung themselves to get on the front page of the newspapers? That's a ridiculously stupid assumption.

Nascar still relies heavily on blue collar workers and is still recovering from the 2008 recession.

They didn't need this.

All the new Euro and Ozzie TV fans are nice, but they don't buy tickets to a race every weekend.

Since so far there is zero evidence these were not suicides, I am not the one making ridiculously stupid assumption :2wave:

I never said they were or weren't suicides, did I? I have no idea whether they are or aren't. You however, are the one making an extremely stupid assumption.

Definitely a conspiracy and a massive cover-up.

Yeah, absolutely no reason for people to suspect the worst when several black or brown men across the country are found hanging from trees in the United States during times of tense race relations.

A couple in California with no signs of foul play.

Re: No federal charges in "noose" NASCAR incident

I guess that's not the end of the story. Bubba said it was a noose, it was racially motivated whether it was tied in 2019 or not.

Directions from General Billy Bob Barr demonstrating the control he has.

Figured for once he would make Trump look good

Trump is the black mans friend. Right?

Thank you proving beyond any shadow of a doubt that TDS is a real thing and you suffer from a rather severe case. Hopefully once Trump loses reelection you will start down the road to recovery.
