Nixing EPA regulations: the price of "freedom", in terms of illness and death

Global warming is not a religion. It's established science and well known fact (outside the rightwing radio pundit world). You might as well call gravity a religion. It's ridiculous.

If this keeps up, those miners and their families better learn to canoe to work every day.

Yes, yes we are all doomed. No good religion is complete without an End Times Prophesy. You even have your own Great Flood fable ready to go. The Ark idea has already been used though so you will have to come up with something else.

Thank you for highlighting the fundamental problem with libertarianism when it comes to environmental protection.
Whats that? You want to be able to collect damages without first proving who has harmed you?? That's not how law works in any area of justice, libertarian or otherwise.

One of the most pathetic false dichotomies I've ever seen. If you want to continue this discussion, do so honestly.
Its not a false dichotomy. You need power. Unless you think the lights come on by magic when you flip a switch.

I go with fire. Or being swallowed by a black hole. Yeah, I take a black hole death for the universe - a real end times.

As a target of the Trump administration's most draconian cuts, the EPA is meant to protect American lives and health. It seems the free market and the big corporations don't just magically address that problem if left completely "free" and unoppressed by government regulations.

Too bad that all these Trump supporters have been thwarted from getting rid of their Obamacare healthcare to help them when this hits. Experience is the best teacher. They should be allowed to knock themselves out and do everything they want to do, like get rid of the ACA and cut EPA regulations, all at the same time. Get rid of all that big government tyranny and bureaucratic overreach like they want. And then they can learn the consequences firsthand. Until then, there will be no end to this whining about government tyranny for every sensible measure out there designed to protect them.

Nominate better candidates and win elections and undo the draconian cuts as you see them. The earth is a big place. Only so much damage can be done in 4 years, and most of it will be done outside US jurisdiction either way.

Do you understand the difference between religion and science?

Would you say this to a doctor who just diagnosed you with an illness and tells you what you need to do to get better? How is this different?

So I assume we should also be letting all drunk drivers, or those with Alzheimer's or vision impairment, remain free on the roads too until they kill a few?

That IS how justice works. At least currently.

I want the freedom to have a company dump some poisonous crap near my water supply because jobs n' freedomz

Of course.

Except there is no cure. If the globe is warming due to human activity, then it is going to warm. You and those like you simply use scare tactics to drive the public into the arms of the state to embrace a 'cure' that doesn't exist.

Since no one but you is actually advocating that, you have nothing to fear.

yes. Exactly my point. That's why regulation is needed to prevent the harm from occuring in the first place. This harm is hard to prove in such a direct fashion. Civil courts often will not be able to provide remedy on their own.

Remember the movie Erin Brokovich? Based on a true story. It's so unusual to prove a direct cause of harm she got a freaking movie.

You are straight up lying with your implication that "turn off the lights" is an option being presented. NEWS FLASH: Electricity existed under president Obama's EPA regulations.
