It must be nice to be Pitt, able to include takedowns as part of your offense...
The Leafs are in a whole lot of trouble if they cannot figure out how to hold onto a lead though. But yeah, in a couple years, those young players are going to be insane scary good.
I am sure Toronto will find some way to **** them all up. It's what they do! :2razz:
You are thinking of Edmonton. Their pattern: win lottery, draft first, ruin player, trade him for nothing, win lottery...
I get back from dinner, turn on the TV, and Washington is up by 2...for about a minute. Fun series so far.
I cannot take it anymore. Sens eke another one out... phew.
Looks like the Leafs aren't the only team that can cough up a 2 or more goal lead - see Capitals and Senators tonight. Another terrific game for the Leafs, showing lots of resiliency and no nervousness. Must be hard being a Capital's player right about now, with their history - winning the President's Trophy is a curse.
Stats show that the team who wins the 3rd game at home to go up 2-1 in a series wins the series better than 75% of the time - hope that holds true here but I think the Leafs have to go up 3-1 for it to be likely.
And another 2 goal lead ends in a loss. Who would have predicted Nashville would end up 3 games to none?
Hawks and CBJ are one game away from being swept. Time to find a new team. Maybe I'll root for the Champs.
Ok Zyphlin, you can look at the TV now. The Caps have home ice advantage back.
I wouldn't get too comfortable if I'm the Caps. The Leafs, if nothing else, are relentless and never seem to give up no matter how far behind they get and they've got goal scorers on every line. Andresen is likely to be better and the Caps play like they're scared of failure at home, far more nervous than the Leafs ever are. Leafs remain loose because anything they gain is gravy on a great year while the Caps are failures with anything less than the Cup - all the pressure is on the home team.
I think it's going 7 and I'll take that with the Leafs having a good chance in that game.
BTW, the Caps looked awesome for 10 minutes to start the game last night, overwhelming and driven, but then the Leafs were by far the better team the rest of the way. Even down 4-1, it never felt like the Leafs were out of it and the Caps looked like they were afraid to lose. Caps haven't played a complete game yet in the series - if they do, they can dominate - but I'll believe it when I see it.
