NFL, players have one easy answer for how to end protests on their own terms

Another thing I wonder about is we reach a point of no return for the fans. Do they just say we had enough and go ahead and kneel or whatever you want because it does not what you do, we ain't coming back, we had enough. Right now everyone is under the assumption that fans will come back if they are appeased but that could change. This may be the beginning of a perminent decline in the sport.

I think that'll just make things worse for the NFL.
They are beginning to not televise the anthem to try to hide it but I think that may blow up in their faces

Many people feel as you do and many dont, until somebody gives in the stalemate will continue. The nfl may end up losing billions in all of this.

The stalemate will eventually come to pass, and I'm sure the NFL will survive though it could well lose billions in potential profit, but potential profit is akin to unhatched eggs - who knows?

The NFL also has a problem with the emerging evidence of induced CTE injuries. That problem has the potential to severely reduce billions in revenue on a scale the protests could only hope to create in Trump's addled mind.

I wonder what the profit margin for them is. Small businesses consider 30% to be about right but the larger ones often work off smaller ones to be competive. Supermarkets operate off a 1% profit margin. The nfl is its own animal so I could not even begin to guess what their profit margin is but what if they lose 20% revenues this year and they operate off a 10% margin. That will be big trouble for them. They will look to cut expenses.

No one cares more than the NFL. I only watch to play fantasy football, or if the Dolphins are good. For me it's barely a tv show let alone a lifestyle.

I can relate to that -- I don't watch it at all. I prefer to take part in activities, not just watch others. But, that's just me.

Actually it was Trump that made this an issue because it would "resonate with his base" Players have been doing it for years without incident before his meddling.

Not really.

Colin Kaepernick did it last year and got everyone's feathers ruffled. Survey's were taken at that time (Obama was still president) and the American people didn't like it.

Nothing has changed now, except the President mentioned how disgusting the act was. And, he was right about that.

I do hope that fans are getting sick of football but you really think they might not keep watching? Baseball is far more exciting and players are not nearly as prone to receiving life altering brain injury.

I agree. Baseball is a better sport all around and the guys seem pretty decent. Don't see a lot of baseball players beating their wives/girlfriends, or taking part in fighting dogs. I'm still not a fan of baseball, but it's better than football, for sure.
