Nfl 2019

I agree. I'm not sure if you are addressing what I said. Bridgewater might be the next up. He might step in. We'll see.

Brady and Belichick are great. I'm not disputing that. But an advantage they've had is that they are in a TERRIBLE division. That gives them all year to prep for the playoffs.

The NFC South is also weak. That might give Bridgewater and the Saints some breathing room.
I'm a little surprised they are going with Bridgewater over Hill to be honest. And I agree...they should be able to stay afloat and be OK assuming Brees does actually make it back in 6 weeks.

I wouldn’t be shocked if Big Ben retired.

How funny would it be if Ben stayed out this year, went into free agency, Brady steps down after this year, and Ben signs a 3 year deal with the Patriots.

No. Not going to happen. Especially if by some miracle Brown is still with the Pats.

BTW I have lost a lot of respect for the Pats. Brown quits on 1 team. Screws another team and threatens their GM. And then this texts and alligations come out? Pats are good enough. They don't need to welcome a POS like Brown with open arms..

Cowboys, Ravens, Chiefs, Rams, Pats...all pretty solid right now. Little doubt those teams will be around come January.

Unknowns: Packers, Hawks, 49'ers, BILLS?

Tanking early: Miami

The Seahawks are 2-0, my friend.

Deflate gate, for example, was red carpet treatment? What's this thing you have against the Pats? IMO, the red carpet treatment you are referring to with the Pats is the American East. Or are the Jets, for example, (or fins, or bills...or) gonna be good this year?

Who paid any price for "deflate-gate" other than the poor equipment managers who were just following orders?

Brees out 6 weeks. More than likely ends any hopes for a post season run.

Carson Wentz was injured prior to post season and the Eagles went on to beat the Pats in 2017 in the Superbowl with their backup!

That's Saints fans for you. After two games, 1 player is injured and the season is "over."

First off, a team that falls apart after 1 injury probably isn't a Super Bowl contender.

Second, the Saints defense sucking has nothing to do with Brees.

These Saint fans are too much. Crying over 1 call last year and now crying about Brees being hurt, Boo hoo hoo.

Wow, talk about rolling the dice!

The Steelers traded their first-round pick to the Dolphins for Minkah Fitzpatrick. Fitzpatrick is a real good Db however the Steelers are 0-2, and Kyle Rudolph is a complete unknown. That first-round pick could turn into a top-5 pick, which could be a franchise QB!

I don't think this is a bad trade for the Steelers because;

1. I think Rudolph is an upgrade over fat ben.

The bigger problem for the Steelers is at WR. Donte Moncrief is straight trash.

Get to play a pissed of Jets team next week. Could be a classic trap game. That being said, I am glad we play them week 3 and 6.

I really hope Wynn and Cannon can come back soon. They really are limited on offense when both those players are out.

The defense is on fire. Really impossible to run on this team. Great linebackers with the return of Jamie Collins. Even the DB's are stout tacklers.

They don't have a dominating pass rush but they can pressure from the middle and their linebackers cover so much ground. Collins, Van Noy, and Hightower? Not to forget the amazing depth.

The Patriots may have the best DB in the NFL no one has heard of - Jonathan Jones,

The biggest problem for the Steelers is that Big Ben is out for the season. You cant win in this league without a QB.

DOod...does it HAVE to be a ****show EVERY TIME? Cant it just be a conversation without someone sucking?

We will see. The problem with Big Ben was that he was a poor leader. Part of the QB position is leadership. Players need to run through a wall for their QB...

Ben reminds me of Jay Cutler in that aspect. AB and LBell didn't respect Ben. Ben is a talented QB, no question, but Ben cared more about his bottom line than his teammate's bottom line

Ben literally blamed AB for the Steelers loss against the Broncos and that's one of the worst things a QB can do on a field:

Brown has discussed their disconnect several times before, including on LeBron James’ The Shop in early March. During Brown’s appearance, he explained how Roethlisberger's overbearing and authoritative attitude drove them apart. Brown specifically cited when Roethlisberger told the media that his bad route is the reason he threw the late-game interception that led to their Week 12 loss against the Denver Broncos.

“That's the type of guy he is. He feels like he's the owner,” Brown said. “Bro, you threw this **** to the D-line. How the **** am I going to run a better route? You need to give me a better ball.”

You see AB play for the Patriots? Has not said one word. He has completely bought into the TB12 experience because Brady is a tremendous leader. I doubt Ben even had AB's phone number. Brady invites players to his home, he actually calls and talks to them in the offseason.

Do you really think if Ben were the QB of the Patriots he would have called or check in on Josh Gordon once in the offseason?

Here is an article about Josh Gordon/Brady:

“When Josh Gordon got to the Patriots, Tom recognized that Josh Gordon made the team better and recognized that he was going to need some attention,” Darlington said, via Dov Kleiman, who tweeted the transcript of the reply on Saturday morning.

Darlington added that, “Josh Gordon was going out to dinner with Tom Brady and Gisele [Bundchen] at times because Tom recognized that he needs to bring this guy in, foster him, make him feel like he is at home, recognizing some of the issues that Josh Gordon goes through.

“While that is, in part, a guy just trying to get better, it’s also Tom Brady being a really good person, continuing to try to help out and manifest Josh Gordon. . . .Tom Brady, to this day, really respects Josh Gordon and would love to see him live a better life.”

Brady actually builds relationships and does what a leader needs to do. Big Ben? LBell actually said a reason why he left was because of Ben's overhearing and authoritative ways.

As a white QB, you have to have the self-awareness to not treat these African American wide receivers like damn servants. You have to actually get to know and befriend people of different cultures and backgrounds.

Ben is just a damn white hick with a owners mentality. He expects results by barking at his teammates. With Brady, there is a give and take. With Big Ben, it is his way or the highway. He's a bit of an egomaniac..

Brady lost 4 games and the team was fined an unprecedented amount. One million dollars. Deflategate penalty: NFL suspends Brady, fines Pats, takes draft picks | SI.com

I remember Fran Tarkenton, a former diminutive QB of the Vikings raised all kinds of heck about Brady's footballs being deflated (almost used a contraction of the word football with a hilarious result) because Tarkenton had itty bitty hands and played with properly deflated balls. I also heard it wasn't an uncommon practice for some QBs around the league to have equipment managers alter the air pressure of balls to fit the comfort zone of QBs. I mean, if the NFL wants to eradicate this process, have the NFL provide the balls instead of each team.

Yes. I think the Pats were screwed on this one. Why? Probably because of fan outrage. The same amount of fan outrage over the success of the Pats (poor baby fans).

You mean in the 2018 season. Played the SB in 2019.

each basketball team does not get to play with its ball of choice. doesn't work that way in baseball or soccer. why does football not use a ball that is universal to every team

as a football official, that is one pain in the ass, tossing the defender's ball to the sideline while looking for the offensive team's ball. it slows the game

Ask the NFL (or NFLPA). But was the reason for Deflate gate.

RULE 2. THE BALL
SECTION 1 - DIMENSIONS
The Ball must be a “Wilson,” hand selected, bearing the signature of the Commissioner of the League, Roger Goodell.

The ball shall be made up of an inflated (12½ to 13½ pounds) urethane bladder enclosed in a pebble grained, leather case (natural tan color) without corrugations of any kind. It shall have the form of a prolate spheroid and the size and weight shall be: long axis, 11 to 11¼ inches; long circumference, 28 to 28½ inches; short circumference, 21 to 21¼ inches; weight, 14 to 15 ounces.

The Referee shall be the sole judge as to whether all balls offered for play comply with these specifications. A pump is to be furnished by the home club, and the balls shall remain under the supervision of the Referee until they are delivered to the ball attendant just prior to the start of the game.

SECTION 2 - SUPPLY
Each team will make 12 primary and 12 backup balls available for testing by the Referee no later than two hours and 30 minutes prior to the starting time of the game to meet League requirements. For all games, six new footballs, sealed in a special box and shipped by the manufacturer to the Referee, will be opened in the officials’ locker room two hours and 15 minutes prior to the starting time of the game. These balls are to be specially marked by the Referee and used exclusively for the kicking game.

In the event a home team ball does not conform to specifications, or its supply is exhausted, the Referee shall secure a proper ball from the visitors and, failing that, use the best available ball. Any such circumstances must be reported to the Commissioner.

In case of rain or a wet, muddy, or slippery field, a playable ball shall be used at the request of the offensive team’s center. The Game Clock shall not stop for such action (unless undue delay occurs).

Note: It is the responsibility of the home team to furnish playable balls at all times by attendants from either side of the playing field.

And that first round pick they lost because of that sham deflategate, they could have drafted Michael Thomas, Myles Jack, or Chris Jones. There were other good players available.

Busted-Up Cam Newton Is Going To Be Out For A While..

Carolina GM Marty Hurney told reporters that Cam Newton informed the team of the aggravated foot injury after last Thursday night's loss to the Buccaneers. The team does not have a solid timeline for when Newton will be able to play, saying the Panthers "will see how it goes."
