Nfl 2019

Todd McShay had Jarrett Stidham and Ryan Finley, the QBs drafted by the Patriots & Bengals in the 4th round higher rated than Daniel Jones, the QB drafted by the Giants with the sixth overall pick.

I could not try to explain the Giants to you or anybody else without using the words crazy/insane/logic does not compute/gaga and what a potential disaster there.

Some say the Patriots are vulnerable.

I am Tom Brady's biggest fan however I even have to admit all good things have to end eventually.

I think Brady and the Patriots have enough magic to win 1 more SB in 2020 or 2021.

One thing I will refuse to do is count out Thomas Edward Patrick Brady Jr. He is a timeless classic. Even great ones have their ups and downs. Michael Jordan couldn't win a ring by himself early in his career. Tiger has had his struggles professionally and personally. Roger Federer has had his failures. Brady has been consistenly excellent. I will never bet against him.

LOL

Bears coach Matt Nagy instructed all eight kickers to attempt a 43-yard field goal in front of the entire rookie minicamp roster at the end of Friday's practice. It was the same distance that Parkey, whom the club released in the offseason, missed from at the end of a bitter playoff loss to the Philadelphia Eagles in January.

The final verdict: Chicago's kickers combined to go 2-of-8.

"That's not good enough," Nagy said.

"We have a method to our madness, and again, I think for us, just besides finding a kicker and being able to see what they can do in practice, we want to be able to see as much as we can in game situations, how they handle that too," Nagy said.

No good - Bears kickers boot early shot to dazzle

What a trainwreck this team is. I wouldn't be suprised if they called tony danza

Its a good strategy. Bring in as many kickers as you can and start a war of attrition. I like the move. the Bears were a kicker away from winning the playoff game against the Eagles so no stone should be left unturned.

I certainly disagree with that.... strategy.

The New England Patriots have had 2... two... 2!! kickers since 1996. Adam Vinatieri and Stephen Gostkowski.

And the Bears have like 8 kickers on the roster right now? What is this? Tryouts?

"Trainwreck"? Hmm, Won Division (12 - 4) ... #1 Defense ... Coach of the Year ... yup, total trainwreck.

The Bears are so desperate I see them offering a second round pick to the 49'ers for Robbie Gould.

The 49'ers are smart to do that trade. Gould has no options.

Kevin Butler, the former Bears kicker even said Gould shouldn't want to go to Chicago!

CHICAGO -- Former Bears kicker Kevin Butler has some advice for Robbie Gould, who last week told ESPN that he ended long-term contract negotiations with the San Francisco 49ers, has not signed his franchise tag tender and has requested to be traded.

Butler's advice: Be wary of a return to Chicago.

Oh I have a feeling that the Pats will be doing something similar- not with kickers, but with QBs, after Brady goes down this season- his SB stats were awful. :2razz:

The Bears are a mess. You have the former kicker on the Bears 1985 team telling maybe the best kicker in Bears history to NOT want to come back. Sad

As opposed to the crew of gangsters that comprise the Patriots?

lol...talk about misrepresenting an article. Did you even read it?

Butler was referring to the winds and weather at Soldier Field. Why did you lie to make it sound like he was talking about a management issue?

LOL Gangsters? All of the Patriots are pretty much comprised of middle-aged dads that wear Crocs.

They are god-fearing people that love their country.

Unlike that ingrate Alex Cora. I have lost all respect for the manager of the Red Sox who refuses to visit the White House over the current conditions of Puerto Rico. What a joke.

I have been to Soldier Field, it is not that bad. Not even top worst stadiums for worst kicking conditions. Washington, Oakland, Green Bay, Tampa, and Pittsburgh are much more difficult.

LOL!

The Bears trade for a kicker named Fast Eddie Piniero from the Raiders for a seventh-round draft pick.

The Bears and Matt Nagy's antics should not go unnoticed by the NFL commissioner. The coach basically held a game of thrones type kicking competition. If you miss a kick, you are out of a job and given a pink slip.... talk about a nutcase.

Now they have no more kickers and trade for some no name for an actual draft pick.

LOL riight. Kraft is going to jail for running a prostitution ring, Brady was suspended for deflating balls, Belicheck got nabbed for Spygate, Hernandez was a murderer, Gordon is always high, and Edelman is a roid abuser.

Jets today fired their GM 2 weeks AFTER the draft. Great timing. And pretty classless. He hired Gase then loses a power struggle to the guy he hired.

Only the Jets.

Joe Gibbs has a unique accomplishment.

Giants get a chuckle: Odell Beckham already in hot water in Cleveland..

The Cleveland Browns were thrilled when they landed wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. from the New York Giants in an offseason trade, alleging they were content with all aspects of who OBJ was.

That was all well and good until Beckham started missing organized team activities — a common offseason habit of his — and then the tone began to change.

Initially, Browns head coach Freddie Kitchens dismissed Beckham’s absence, but that went by the wayside earlier this week as the superstar receiver continued to skip practice.

Asked what he wants to see of him next week in mandatory minicamp, Kitchens said, “I just want to see him.”

What did he miss?

“A lot — the offense.”

Kitchens’ first message to Beckham was, “I love you.” His current message to Beckham is, enough is enough. It’s time to get it together.

Thus far, Beckham has attended just a single OTA, also skipping the team’s voluntary minicamp and making no commitment to the upcoming mandatory minicamp.

This was a common theme for Beckham in New York, and one that led to a disconnect between him and the front office/coaching staff, who repeatedly expressed the importance of OTAs, gelling with teammates and learning the offense.

Kitchens may have expected this to be temporary as Beckham wrapped his mind around the trade, but months later, little has changed.

“I have never disputed the fact that it is not important for him to be here, but it is also also important for him to be mentally ready to be here,” Kitchens said, via NJ Advance Media. “I’m not giving him an out by any stretch of imagination, and nobody here knows the conversations that Odell and I have. I’m just saying it is better for him to be here when he can present his best self – emotionally, physically, everything.”

While some are quick to dismiss the value of OTAs, former players continuously acknowledge their benefit in terms of cohesion and learning the playbook. And given that Beckham is entering a brand new locker room and a new offensive system, his absence is, in fact, meaningful.

Giants general manager Dave Gettleman may not get the last laugh, but he’s gotten the first one. Another feather goes into his cap amid relentless criticism.

Organized team activities, as well as the rest of the offseason training program, excluding the mandatory minicamp, are voluntary. A team cannot indicate that the workouts are not voluntary or that “a player’s failure to participate in a workout program or classroom instruction will result in the player’s failure to make the Club or result in other adverse consequences affecting his working conditions.”

now, please explain why beckham not attending voluntary training sessions should cause Gman to receive a cap feather

Beckham did say he was going to show up for mandatory minicamp, so there's that.

In other news, Patriots TE Ben Watson has been suspended 4 games for roiding. What a surprise... its the Patriot way.

Sure, the Patriots are responsible for things he did before he was hired by the team
