Nfl 2017 [W:1941,2227]

Wilson was 0 factor in that Super Bowl. The Seahawks still would have won with a 4th string QB starting.

You're on a roll. Keep em coming. I'm still laughing....

Jimmy Clipboard Jesus Junior 2 first round draft picks!

I am going to wet myself.

You do realize that I played just as much in those two superbowls as JG did?

BWAHAHAHAHA

I will say it again, Jimmy G is the best QB available on the market. (snip) Jimmy is a franchise level QB, on par with Aaron Rodgers/Matt Ryan.
What are you basing that on? A 3-1 record + not completely ****ting the bed while TB was out suspended?

The Texans made the same mistake with Brock Osweiller. Sometimes QBs can appear better than they are for short periods of time, thanks to good coaching/scheming and judicious play calling. The Broncos knew what they had in Brock, and knew they were squeezing everything they could out of him just to survive while Peyton recovered.

This is not to say Jimmy G's football is on par with Osweiller's, only that a few good games does not a good QB make.

Looks like the Browns didn't Brown it up, they resisted the temptation to reach for a QB and did themselves pretty well IMO. Good for them, I hope it's a sign of finally starting to turn things around.

What the HELL were the Bears thinking? Giving up two 3rds and a 4th just to move up ONE SPOT? For a QB in THIS draft?? I guess being desperate for a QB is like being desperate for sex: impaired judgement, lowered standards, take whatever you can get as long as it's not totally repulsive. The 49'ers made out like bandits in this deal, but they badly needed some help like that.

Seahawks traded out of the 1st and got 3 new picks out of it. I love it. I'm soo glad they didn't reach for an O-Lineman. Tonight should be good!

The Bears in a nutshell: I dont know whether to laugh or cry anymore.

He actually performed quite well. Brock Osweiller was a bit of a myth. You have to remember he played slightly better than a broken down Peyton Manning but was benched later in the season for the same mediocre Manning.

The texans still gave him a bunch of money out of desperation, not performance.

and is this not the same argument which could be used to refute your arguments about jimmy garoppolo
he has very little actual performance base to conclude that he is destined to be a great quarterback

Jimmy G. was benched too once Brady came back.

Here's how Brock played:

20/27, 250 YDs, 2 TD 0 INT (+Offensive Player of the Week)
23/42, 270 YDs, 1 TD 1 INT
16/26, 166 YDs, 1 TD 1 INT
35/51, 308 YDs, 0 TD 0 INT
21/44, 296 YDs, 3 TD, 1 INT
27/39, 299 YDs, 1 TD, 0 INT

Here's how Jimmy played:

24/33, 264 YDs, 1 TD, 0 INT
18/27, 234 YDS, 3 TD, 0 INT
(then injured + benched)

This is way too small of a sample size to draw any hard conclusions, but based on what's there it seems they played pretty similarly overall. Brock played in 3x more games so of course he had more INTs. Jimmy caught fire in Miami before hurting his shoulder. Who knows what he would've done with 4 more games? You seem to, based on two games, but I'm not sure how you're doing that lol.

You have got to be kidding me. Are you really comparing the benching of Jimmy G to the benching of Brock?

I'm comparing what they actually did in the VERY few games they played, trying to understand how you can comfortably parade Jimmy G. around as the next Arron Rodgers after a whole two games. I'm saying I think you're making the same mistake with Jimmy the Texans did with Brock - assuming way too much from way too little.

All I can say is you have the Patriots, and than every other team in the AFC.

The Patriots are a solid unit up and down. They are all on the same team. They are a band of brothers.

Compare that with the Pittsburgh Steelers. Antonio Brown is a turn coat getting paid by Facebook to video tape the Steelers locker room. That stunt very much gave the Patriots much motivation to blow the Steelers out in the AFC Championship.

Just today, Steelers troubled WR Martinis Bryant was causing trouble online on twitter:

After the selection was announced, Steelers receiver Martavis Bryant – who was recently reinstated on a conditional basis – took to Twitter to troll his teammate, Sammie Coates, saying Pittsburgh drafted his “replacement.”

Mike Tomlin had to step in and break up his receivers before things got ugly.

Who will be the next guy on the Cheatahs to be convicted of murder?

I know he committed murder but I found his love note to his fiancee actually touching.

"Shay, you have always been my soul-mate and i want you to live life and know I'm always with you. I told you what was coming indirectly! I love you so much and know you are an angel - literally! We split into two to come change the world! Your characteristics [sic] is that of a true angel and the definition of God's love! Tell my story fully but never think anything besides how much I love you. This was the Supreme's, the Almighty's plan, not mine! I love you! Let (redacted) know how much I love her! Look after (redacted) and (redacted) for me - those are my boys. (YOU'RE RICH) I knew I loved you = Savage Garden."

Jay Cutler retirement is official.

He was a QB with a GUN for an arm but unfortunately for the Bears he was also a head case. I have no idea how he'll be in a broadcast booth. But judging from how he was in front of the cameras as a football player? I don't hold out much hope on his broadcasting career either.

The Patriots actually have a strong culture and foundation. That's why they win on the field. I don't support teams that support assaulting women and even raping them.

I am an extremely ethical person. That's how I live my life. I don't endorse or support companies whose CEO's endorse assaulting women. That's a sign of a weak and gutless leader.

That's why I was shocked to learn you were a Steelers fan. They have a QB that sexually assaults women and never apologized to his victims. A team full of criminals and degenerates. That's why its been over 9 years since your team has actually won a SB.

I'm not exactly a "Steelers fan." In fact, I usually go with the local Bengals, when they're good. Steelers are my playoff back-up because they're quite often good enough to go deep in them. Bengals haven't won a playoff game since I was in college.

I liked Baltimore, with Ray Lewis, over SF. Seattle over NE. Giants always when they play NE. I loved Denver with Peyton Mooning. But I usually hate Dallas, the Packers, Chargers and Andrew Luck. I sort of like Raiders, Dolphins, Bears, but that's more from years past than any current feelings. Lions. I'm always hoping the lions win. Browns too.

As for "ethics." Football and ethics are not actually in the same neighborhood, Buck. The sport has serious issues with players having their brains bashed in, if you haven't noticed.

Since this is a sports thread I won't get political. But l think it's safe to say most people on this thread know better than to believe that steaming pile.
