Nfl 2017 [W:1941,2227]

One game in is too early to predict. Maybe the Chiefs are really great this year, maybe the Patriots suck this year, maybe it was one week where the Chiefs had everything running perfect and the Pats just didn't have it? We'll find out.

Would you lay $100 on the Pats to beat the Saints, Texans, Panthers or Bucs? I sure wouldn't, not after seeing them give up 21 unanswered fourth quarter points last night.

Falcons, Broncos and Raiders? Yeah, Maybe they are favored to beat Denver. But, again, the way the team finished the game last night, no way can they beat Las Vegas and Atl.

I actually would. Let's not forget, the Chiefs were a great team last season.

Calamity = prisoner of the moment.

in 2014 the Patriots got blown out the opening day against the Dolphins and Chiefs 41-14 in September. They ended up winning the SB that year.

Calamity, I wouldn't suggest buying stocks.

Brady was younger.

Sure. And, they are probably going to be favored against the Saints, Texans, etc. But, if the Pats are really as bad as they were in the 4th Q last night, they are probably going to lose 3 of those 4.

You're living in the past.

Are you saying than if the Patriots put in Jimmy G, they would be a better team?

With that Defense? Lol...Tommy Boy from 2007 wouldn't even be able to rescue the Pats from that.

Alex Smith burned them for 4 TD and 350 yards. Worse, they ran for almost 200 yards and 2 TD.

You are overreacting. The Patriots had a top 5 defense last year and returned the majority of their starters from last year.

They are running a 5-1-5 defense now. It is just a matter of adjustments.

In each of the last two games that mattered, they were lit up for almost 30 points in one half. That does not sound like a top rated defense to me.

In the first and second quarter, the Patriots were on the verge of blowing out the Chiefs. It was really the difference between 1-2 plays.

The Chiefs are legit, and they exposed some problem areas for the Pats to work on. They will work on them and they will improve. We're talking about Bill Belichick after all, not Jeff Fisher. I still won't consider the Pats as anything less than a damn juggernaut unless/until they're guaranteed out of the playoffs.

Weren't the Falcons on the verge of blowing out the Pats in the SB? :doh

If the collapse wasn't in the fourth Q, I'd cut them some slack. But, this is not a good sign, no matter how it is spun.

Belechick is a very good defensive coach. I'm pretty sure he/the Pats will figure it out on defense.

But again, IMO the Pats looked slow and old on offense. yes they will beat up the awful teams in the AFC East and make the playoffs. But against the better defensive teams? IDK, they just looked a step slow on offense.

How the Pats do well in the season is not actually determined by their offense, but how good their defense is..

And it seems the ex-Bear Shea Mclelin is on IR- maybe thats why their defense sucks...

Bears are playing well right now; William Hill on Sports Betting and Gambling News, and Vegas Odds is showing 'in-game' odds at this time. So far, they're doing first half odds; then they'll switch to spread and (money line ?? will have to wait and see)

Halftime scores look great, except in Houston and Cincinnati.

I sure missed on HOU so far. An easy fix to the Thursday game picks would be to just have us pick the Thursday game as a stand-alone and then the rest before 1:00 eastern on Sunday, before Saturday games occur of course ...

They did last year. MG (or someone) did it more than a few times.

Dalton. 3 picks in the 1st half. Wow.
