Hastings has a sketchy history. He was a judge in the U.S. District Court for the Southern Florida District from 1979 to 1989 when he was impeached for bribery and perjury. :doh

Apparently, bribery and perjury are non-disqualifying for being a congressman, just don't diddle kids, or, at least, don't get caught if you diddle little kids. :cuckoo:
 
I'll bet Hastings will cry racism, that the Congressional Black Caucus already met its quota of one black resignation per white when Conyers pulled the plug on his congressional career, which lasted longer than the Zhou dynasty.

I'm curious why so many leftists in congress have been so quiet about these abuses. They profess to be the defenders of women's rights, the knight in shining amour ready to slain that sexual harassment dragon, but they sure don't say much when one of their own is caught with their proverbial hand in the cookie jar.

Hastings appointment to the federal bench is up there with Maxine "the moron" Waters being elected to Congress. the difference is-Maxine's constituents are pretty much the most uneducated and ignorant area in California while Hastings was nominated and confirmed by some fairly intelligent politicians

Seems that this is the new standard, all it takes now is to be accused of some sexual harassment, assault, or perceived sexual deviancy.

In the rush to judgment, let's hope that due process and being able to face the accuser aren't lost.

Well, I don't think a 14-year old is a "little kid," so my response was more a characterization of the epithet that's been tossed at him, but, yeah, your view is more reflective of the truth in his case.

Oh, you mean like all the dem senators who called for Franken's resignation? Or the fact that the leader of the dems in the house called for Conyers resignation?
