Next 007 will be revealed in '''Bond 25''': report | Fox News

Spoiler alert: This article may contain spoilers for the upcoming "Bond 25."The next James Bond film will show the secret agent pass the torch — and fans of the Ian Fleming-inspired franchise are in for a shock as to which star gets the latest license to kill.
Reports claim that the next Agent 007 will be played by British actress Lashana Lynch.
Lynch, 31, had a breakout role in "Captain Marvel" as Maria Rambeau, the titular superhero's best friend and fellow Air Force pilot.

Whatever position anyone wants to take on this.

I know there is a subsection on the internet that is going to absolutely ****ing freak the **** out.

It's been fascinating watching the James Bond series evolve over time. A lot of people are old-school and say that Sean Connery was the only great Bond, but I think that Roger Moore wasn't bad at all. He was simply a different face.

Flash forward to Daniel Craig, who made a big splash in Casino Royale but has been a letdown since. Now onto Lynch. Good luck to her!

Interesting way to describe the actress?

I meant the plot, ffs. Calm yourself. I was hoping Idris Elba would get the role, cause he's amazing. James Bond is a dude, if you want a female super agent in the bond universe, make one, just not "James Bond..." Stupid.

I think it's an incredibly silly way to go about trying to make some point about equality of the sexes, which is exactly what is driving this "let's turn strong male leads into strong female leads."

Why not just have strong female leads in new shows/movies? GoT's writers can't be the only ones capable of writing such.

Of course, trying to debate the point almost inevitably ends up with someone trying to virtue signal by accusing you of being sexists for not wanting a strong female lead when you're really just objecting to the notion that swapping sexes around is a good way to strive for equality.

Liberals do ... very important to them ... right next to changing history and classic books.

And yet you seem to be the one upset. :)

Nope; just curious about her sexual orientation ... (grin)

Oooh, got a crush on her? I'll admit, she is pretty good looking ;)

Yes, Sir!

If it's a good movie, why would I care? It's not out, so why pass judgement? Bond always tries to be edgy and stay relevant, it's not like it's the hottest franchise these days. There is a gulf of unexplored territory for a woman in that role, I think it's ripe for great writing and new stuff we haven't seen, good for them for not being chicken ****s and just churning out the same old.

But it's funny to see Renae, of all people, passing judgement on something without having seen it, based on them changing the gender. I'd say it's mind-boggling but really it's typical isn't it.

This. /thread

From what I've read she will be the new 007 but not the new Bond as Craig will be in the movie playing retired Bond.

Look at the bright side people. The studio will be able to pay her 30% less.

I thought it should be Elba- he would make a great Bond. What a shame.

I wasnt even born when Sean Connery was Bond, but after watching all of the movies, I think he was and remains the best Bond.

She's 007, but not Bond. Bond is coming out of retirement to train her, from my understanding.

It makes more sense than a lot of the other ****, where they literally just change an existing character for a remake or something, but I just can't see this. I mean, I've never heard of her or seen any of her movies, and given 007 has always been James Bond and that's always been a British / Scottish white guy, it's really just super weird. I can't see her having the same attitude and stuff we're used to, or even if they'll bother trying since she's NOT actually "James Bond".

I just wish they'd stop trying to make sequels and remakes for things and changing them to the point they're unrecognizable. Make a NEW franchise with NEW characters and NEW ideas.
