(Newsweek) Zohran Mamdani Scores 17-Point Lead with Jewish Voters in NYC Mayoral Race

Certainly, no Jew who’s familiar with the Far Left’s history of anti-Semitism as well as the anti-Semitism found in Muslim societies and opposes both would vote for Mamdani.

Then again, most American Jews (as I showed in a previous thread) are on the Left, so this news doesn’t surprise me.

It's because we tend to dislike Nazis. Makes voting for Republicans impossible these days. Then again the standard bearer for the GOP has called us shylocks and mentally ill. So maybe the GOP has a PR problem with the Jewish community.

There is some absolutely vicious Jew hate from prominent leftists. Marx, Proudhon, Bakunin, Fourier, Stalin, Voltaire, and many others leftist absolutely hated Jewish people.

For example, here's leftist hero Proudhon:

A little know fact about Hitler is that he read everything. Over his life he read thousands of books. My own theory is he came to hate Jews by reading books written by left wingers.
It wasn't left wingers marching in charlottesville chanting "Jews will not replace us".

I’m certainly not a Trump supporter, but I’d be remiss if I didn’t point out that he won the greatest share of the Jewish vote in over four decades. And this AFTER all his controversies regarding Jews, i.e. Charlottesville, having dinner with Kanye and Nick Fuentes, retweeting an anti-Semitic image during the 2016 campaign (the one with Hillary Clinton’s face with the pile of money and the Star of David), etc. You have to go back to the 1980 election when Ronald Reagan ran against Jimmy Carter to find a Republican candidate who won a higher percentage of the Jewish vote.

Who cares. He's an anti semite.

There were numerous Leftwing Charlottesvilles in colleges across the country after the Oct. 7 Pogrom. And Democrats have long played footsie with Leftwing and Islamic anti-Semites.

No there wasn't. And the only folks committing a holocaust right now are the IDF.

I’m talking about things like this (listen at the 6:00 point):

And this:
https://www.cnn.com/2024/08/13/politics/asad-zaman-tim-walz-hamas

And during the Occupy Wall Street protests, there were instances of anti-Semitism, such as a protestor holding up a sign that read “Google: Jewish Billionaires.” And Leftists have launched anti-Semitic attacks against megadonor Sheldon Adelson that mirror the Right’s attacks against George Soros.

Anti-semites cover the whole political spectrum.

What I am saying is that neither has a monopoly on antisemetic ****tards.

And if you want to go pointing fingers, the guy with the camp auschwitz shirt will still be there.

Anti-semites cover the whole political spectrum.

Yeah, but the problem is, in the same way that Standard Oil had an effective but not a total monopoly on oil production in the United States at the time it was split up (it controlled 64% of oil production in the U.S.), the political right has an effective monopoly on antisemitism in the United States. Are there politically left-wing Jew-hating conspiratorial antisemites? Yes. Is it a 50-50 split between right vs. left? No. 60-40 right vs. left? No. 70-30 right vs. left? No. 80-20 right vs. left? Mmmmmm...getting close. And if one asks, no, I no longer consider the Anti-Defamation League's classifications of antisemitism valid.

Where? And did they look more or less like the Star of David on a pile of money the Trump campaign sent out in 2015?

Yeah, but the problem is, in the same way that Standard Oil had an effective but not a total monopoly on oil production in the United States at the time it was split up (it controlled 64% of oil production in the U.S.),

But what nobody mentions is that standard oil benefited consumers enormously. Back then kerosene was used for lighting, heating, and cooking. Standard oil slashed the price of this extremely important product. In 1870 it was 30 cents per gallon. By 1900 it was 6 cents per gallon, thanks to standard oil.

Remember the whole antitrust bullshit against standard oil was not that it was using it's monopoly power to raise prices, but to reduce them. The whole lawsuit was ideologically driven, and not rooted in harm to the public.

Points to a great reason on why the Dem party's numbers are in the ****ing toilet. It's not just coming from Fox News scaring their senior viewers of the radical communist Muslim, it's also coming from shitty centrist Democrats that are closer to Wall Street than their voters.
Based on what I've seen of Mamdani's campaign, there are a lot of parallels here to what made Trump popular and to your point, the part that also mirrors to the 2016 primaries was the establishment part of the party trying to shut down a candidate. There's quite a bit of this going on in this mayoral race, and we saw the Democrats do this to Sanders as well.

You're right, it doesn't matter at all.

I want him to win.
I don't live in NYC but I do live in NYS. I don't want it do get worse here, which it certainly will if Mamdani becomes NYC mayor.

It looks like painting Mamdani as anti-semitic isn't really working all that well. The conservatives may need to try a new tactic.
They've already gone after Jews for being anti-Semitic. This is officially No Longer Weird.

I think he's going to win and all the (left or right) tactics to stop that from happening, will fail.

The key to low Dem polling numbers IS the idiot "moderate" establishment Dems.
Voters are sick of Chuck Schumer types phoning it in with a monotone voice, proving beyond a doubt they don't actually give two shits.
Yep, Mamdani and AOC are the future of the Dem party.

I have no confidence in my ability to predict an outcome right now.

Conservatives???? They play very little role in who will be NYC mayor. This is an internal democrat party dispute.
I agree. Conservatives have just about nothing to do with this most interesting of situations in NYC. And it is interesting!

I think you're right that it will get worse and that's a shame for those New Yorkers who won't vote for him and don't support him.

Do those, like you, who live elsewhere in the state and don't support him, feel as if it's likely he will win? If so, are you just hoping the rest of the state won't pay too big of a price?

Yep, Mamdani and AOC are the future of the Dem party.
Only in the minds of the right who are constantly being told this by RW media. AOC maybe someday as she grows in experience and wisdom. Mamdani......nope.
