My Gay Agenda

I was right there with you and your partner until the gay agenda demanded that we call what you have "marriage " and your partner "husband".

They are legally married now, a thought that clearly drives you mad.

They don't care what you call it, but we all call such impotent rage 'fun'.

You're welcome

Any more information you require ?

I'm thankful for the info. But I didn't require it, as you say. Unlike many union contracts that require union members be informed by their employer and/or union leadership of certain kinds of information. Hopefully, more and more employees will be so informed as union membership goes back up. One reason unions went out of style is because they fulfilled their membership needs and were no longer so necessary. In the meantime, wages went flat and "Right to Work", a misnomer if there ever was one, became all the rage.

Right to work means, amongst other things, you can't be dismissed if you refuse to join a union.

What's the first objective of any union, the automatic transfer of your union dues from the employer's bank account into that of the union.

Unions have become just a money making business. That's why they're declining in the private sector.

As it should be. And those who are not a part of collective bargaining should not benefit therefrom. Bargain on your own.

I’d rather have that where those dues give back more to union members than they would otherwise have.

“Unions have become just a money making business. That's why they're declining in the private sector.”

The Teamsters were the best example of this. They banked enough money to loan to mobsters and spend campaigning for Reagan. Another thing is that unions were traditionally racist. That is to say, they had fewer minorities in the union than proportionately to the employee pool from where they go their members. It’s pretty much proportionate now. Unions do not "loan" now like they did years before.

The private sector will start moving-up again within the next number of years. I don’t know how many. The Dems are so F’n stupid it’s hard to say. They should be pushing for unions right now. But they have no leadership.

That doesn't make sense

The point is that unions seem most concerned about getting their money - enough to frequently make it a strike-over issue

Unions were for straight, white, blue collar men with little or no college education

The core support for Trump

I'm not sure of the benefits of union membership in the private sector.

Public sector jobs are more "fixed" - they're not under threat of being moved overseas.

I agree with the first part and end part.

But the middle part you cant really control unless someone is REALLY REALLY stupid and reveals their hand publically. In most places in America they can just fire you for no reason at all. You can replace the word "faggot" with just about anything and if the boss said that publically they would be removed from position. "I fired him cuz I dont like fat-asses"; "I fired him cuz I dont like women"; "I fired him cuz I dont like men", "I fired him cuz I dont like Republicans".

Actually, if they fired you and said it was "I fired him/her cuz I don't like men/women", that is against federal employment laws and they can get sued for doing it. Just as if they fired someone and said it was because they were Jewish or black.

You may be young. Research the 1980's and early 90's. And no, they did not always wait for that HIV diagnosis. Come in with a fever, and a partner, and sometimes they assumed one! People were thrown out of waiting rooms, denied blood tests, heck they did not get to sit in the dentist chair!

This one is much more recent, and so sadly true and in some places protected under religious exemption laws.

I said I didn't care what you called it, as long as we have the same legal rights, call us partners with a civil union, I am fine with that.

I call that the 'colored's water fountain' position. The water tastes exactly the same whether you have to walk a little further and sip at the 'Coloreds Only' fountain as if you share one fountain with every other thirsty citizen. The pipes are the same, and the water treatment is the same. Yet many African Americans somehow had trouble with the idea that they had to explain to their kids just why they were not allowed to drink from the white folks fountain, and still somehow teach them of their equal self worth. I WILL NOT stand in another line, or wait for a different form or initial a different box and watch the straights get a license to marry. I owe it to the next generation , to care very much what the government calls my union. Straight people do not own the English language. They do not own the institution of marriage and they do not get to turn my union into something else that is not exactly marriage...but close enough!

I was just talking about me specifically, I support you and everything you said in your post.

The problem is when you specifically say are willing to 'settle' for the back- of- the- bus- seats, as long as you get to the same place as the people in the front of the bus, you can't help but teach the next generation to settle for those same seats. You have to be sending a message by quietly sitting down. There are a lot of posters here that think that is where the rest of us should be happy to go , because they just opened the door for you and watched you smile.

Point taken. I will consider your wise words.

A heads up to heterosexual married couples: You lost your discount to put your spouse on your health insurance policy because of same sex partner health benefits. Just sayin'

I want my partner and I to be able to have the same legal protections and benefits as any other couple who have been together for 14 years and I don't care what you call it, marriage or civil union, either on works for me. I don't want to lose my job because I get an a-hole boss who doesn't like those "fagg*ts." and lastly, not to have to worry about a health care professional refusing to provide necessary medical care to me because of their "religious freedom." ... That is pretty much the extent of my gay political activism.

The more you are exposed to various personalities, ideas, facts, beliefs and worldviews at colleges, the more liberal and tolerant you are. Whats ironic is that as i neared my graduation at Liberty University, the less conservative I got. :lamo

May I ask what ever possessed you to attend liberty?

I also find living in a big city tends to make one more liberal for the same reasons, you are exposed to a plethora of people and thinking. People who live in rural areas, to me, tend to be more tribal because they are not exposed to anything but their own little towns.

My family's religion is Fundamentalist Christianity. So naturally I would be going to a Christian college. But let me tell you... LU is far better than Bob Jones and Oral Roberts. LU had great accredited math and CS programs.

Just gotta be a victim of gay people, huh?

"Just a heads up"? Lie. Just a hate push.

Thanks for the answer.

Doesn't having a degree from a faith based college, kind of devalue it ?

Don't your lecturers has to assert they're Christians ?

I wouldn't want to do a scientific degree in such a college.

Yes. Professors have to be Christian and pray before classes start. Christianity does not influence scientific courses.

The fact that they're praying Christians is influence enough.

Not sue how the reconcile Evolution and the Big Bang will their faith.

We were required to take Creationism vs Evolution controversy course. It wasn't accredited of course. Lol.
