Musk acts like Broken Man in front of NYT's..Stock Hammered

Maybe car buyers too...do you(F) really want to get stuck with a Tesla with the firm out of business?

The collapse appears to be imminent.

Mortgage your house and short the stock if you're so sure. What are you waiting for?

The stock price doubled in the past 5 years. It has an Apple-like cult following among customers. Excuse me if I don't take investment advice from some dude on the Internet who just hates Elon Musk out of sheer envy.

They have to ride an edge, something Musk never figured out, he always thinks more is better because he believes in himself....he thinks it will all work out.....Just as my Friend the Fundamentalist said when I asked him why he had 6 kids when he was still trying to finish is PHD "It will all work out, God will provide".

Doing it right includes being responsible with risk taking, as the great men of old understood, the Modern Morons not so much.

So how many millions have you made and how much innovation?

You remind me of the guy in Rolling Stone magazine that was criticizing a professional guitarist but was taking guitar lessons.

As usual I don't think you know what you're taking about.

Well, hopefully Musk turns it around. All I know is that the more Musk succeeds, the better life becomes for people. I'm a bit unhappy he chose to go to China when China is stealing our tech, but I can look past that.

Tesla is going down the tubes, all because the of idea to do the mass market intended Model 3. Musk being New Age Whiny Man accelerates the crash.

It's not just the Model 3. It's what happens when a company only exists due to government subsidies and makes a product that most people don't want any part of. Battery cars that you can't "fill up" quickly enough have always been a non-starter, and just something the government is throwing your tax dollars at because it makes some lefties feel good.

It is the Model 3...they would have done fine as a high end boutique producer, when Musk decided that Tesla needed to be a Real Car Company because he needs to be the one to bend the world towards his UTOPIAN DREAMS, at that point he screwed the pooch it looks like to this point.

Seems like he has now figured this out.

Whoa, you just up-ended the Kool-Aid, didn't ya? Musk has a lot of ideas that sound good in theory, and depend on government throwing stolen money at him. I don't see the reality of it like you do.

You made an argument about value, which is not argument I was making. Do you care to take on the argument I made about quality of life?

I wonder how NASA feels about having so many eggs in the SPACEX basket when Musk is trying to use it to save his failing car/solar energy company....

They don't really. If Space X ever went under, the technology and responsibilities could always be used by others, such as NASA themselves.

Tell us exactly what Musk has done for your quality of life.

Well, for one, he created PayPal, which allows me to buy things more easily. I've even been able to get event tickets more easily, so my level of happiness has gone up by being able to go to those events. How about we start there.

Why could you not buy stuff without paypal before?

Elon Musk is far from perfect, and if I was a friend of his I’d tell him to maybe pump the brakes a bit, but the guy is a genius and an innovator. He’s one of the most visible people at the forefront of next-gen tech; a guy who (provided he doesn’t suffer complete burnout, which is a distinct possibility) will be on the front lines of stuff we only thought was possible in movies.

And here, ol’ Hawkeye’s ****ting on him because he complains about being tired. Okay.

Paypal revolutionized how people buy and sell things. Are you that hardcore of a hater that you can’t acknowledge that?

PayPal made it a lot more convenient and allows people to remain more anonymous. But, allow me to explain a situation I had just a few days ago. I wanted to go to a football game in one state. A person had season tickets and then moved to another state, so they were selling their tickets. I was considering buying their tickets, but they were in another state. Without PayPal, I cannot get their tickets. With PayPal, I can. And allowing sellers to be more confident probably allowed more tickets on the market, probably dropping prices as well. That's just one example.

Another example that doesn't impact me but impacts many is that Elon Musk's company is helping building a tunnel to the LA Dodger stadium. I don't know all the details there, but that certainly seems like improvement of quality of life for many people.

I'm gonna concede that one.

Okay, and how about things like OpenAI, where he worked to open AI open to everybody so that no company could gain a monopoly on AI. This allows others to build off of the technology, and surely that improves the quality of life people, if not everybody. I might not be able to tell you how that benefits me individually in specific ways, but that doesn't mean it doesn't.

If he is a broken man, or becomes one, what genius he has becomes irrelevant.

Of he is a genius his choosing to be this reckless is even more a crime.

Gotta give ya that one too. I'm not afraid to admit when I've been wrong.

What a bunch of baloney. I guess that's way there is a waiting list for the products. :doh
