Well, he's innovating so he really might fail. What I don't understand is why you're rooting against an innovator?
Oh, no, it's just posturing. His attack is based around CNBC's characterization of the time article, which really just mentioned:
- A few ill advised tweets, one of which may actually be kind of a big deal because it might violate SEC rules
- Reference to the fact he's working his ass off
- Reference to taking ambien to sleep (like how many Americans) and possibly tweeting while covfefe.
- Reference to an apparent occasional use of unidentified "recreational drugs" (hey, alcohol is a drug (one of the worst), so added to the others how many Americans use some 'drug' recreationally? A majority, I'd say).
I mean, sure his faults are more of a liability because he's a CEO, but hawk's whining is stupid. He's also wrong that it's "going down the tubes". I'll be there will be a bit of a rough patch, but that's more because his take-it-private tweet than anything. Musk
- Co-founded Zip2 (he walked away with 22 million)
- Co-founded Paypal (walked away with 165 million)
- Found Space X (guess who is most likely to help us get to Mars). Still involved.
- Co-founded Neuralink (exploring treatment of brain disease w/ ultimate eye to mental enhancement). Still involved.
- Founded "The Boring Company" (working on hyperloops and improved tunnel boring machines to bore routes to help relieve congestion under cities). Still involved.
How many people build that kind of record and run three companies without fraying a bit at the edges?
I am not rooting, I am pointing out that Tesla is a wreck coming and that Musk playing or being NEW AGE WHINY MAN is hurting his cause....for a smart guy he is acting dumb.
The thing about Musk that get me going is how reckless he is.
Jealousy saps the soul. Let it go. He's not inherited wealth. He has a track record of doing big things. So he stumbled. Whatever. He's human. I suspect the most that'll happen is that the board will lean on him to delegate more and
relax a bit.
That can be hard for someone on full throttle, but hey. I'd hold off on the doom and gloom predictions.
