Musk acts like Broken Man in front of NYT's..Stock Hammered

So Musk isn't favored by the right? You're taking glee in this?

Down 9% today.

SELL!

The victim card fails increasingly, many of us have had just enough of that!

EDIT: This is Tesla stock I am talking about.

Why don't you just short the stock?

Correct me if I'm wrong but he stock surged when Musk said he was planning to go private? Whenever you have surged, you have profit taking. This is not a big deal.

But I don't understand why you care? Isn't Musk an innovator and job creator? Even if Tesla failed he would still be an industrialist who revolutionized space travel through Space X. Some of the greatest innovators have failed. If you try to do great things you will sometimes fail.

Do you remember the movie "Tucker"? I see Musk as a modern Tucker. I'm rooting for him.

What great venture have you attempted?

Why do you guys hate him?

Not only does he have a job, he's a CEO.

"He said he had been working up to 120 hours a week recently"

What a wuss! I ran on about 4.5hr/night average including weekends in the first year of law school, and yeah it does fray you at the edges. I found myself working out and running more than ever before, simply because it would keep me going physically for another few hours. Didn't do anything about the black shapes scurrying along the floor in the library at 2 am, or the weird flashing white lights... but hey.

Mr. Musk’s tweets on Aug. 7 were the most recent of several flare-ups that had drawn scrutiny. He wrangled with short-sellers and belittled analysts for asking “boring, bonehead” questions. And after sending a team of engineers from one of his companies to help rescue members of a stranded soccer team, he lashed out at a cave diver who was dismissive of the gesture, deriding him on Twitter as a “pedo guy,” or pedophile. To help sleep when he is not working, Mr. Musk said he sometimes takes Ambien. “It is often a choice of no sleep or Ambien,” he said.

Look, the thing about being a leader is one gets held responsible for stuff lower people wouldn't. But people should bear in mind that what Musk has done is roughly one thousandth of the **** Trump has pulled. Musk is at least making something. But sell your stock if you must.

Apparently there was no commitment of funding, contrary to his tweet, but announcing it may have violated regulations.

Tesla is going down the tubes, all because the of idea to do the mass market intended Model 3. Musk being New Age Whiny Man accelerates the crash.

Yeah, and I'm sure men used to whine better. Whatever.

Well, he's innovating so he really might fail. What I don't understand is why you're rooting against an innovator?

I am not rooting, I am pointing out that Tesla is a wreck coming and that Musk playing or being NEW AGE WHINY MAN is hurting his cause....for a smart guy he is acting dumb.

The thing about Musk that gets me going is how reckless he is, there was never any call for that.

Oh, no, it's just posturing. His attack is based around CNBC's characterization of the time article, which really just mentioned:

- A few ill advised tweets, one of which may actually be kind of a big deal because it might violate SEC rules
- Reference to the fact he's working his ass off
- Reference to taking ambien to sleep (like how many Americans) and possibly tweeting while covfefe.
- Reference to an apparent occasional use of unidentified "recreational drugs" (hey, alcohol is a drug (one of the worst), so added to the others how many Americans use some 'drug' recreationally? A majority, I'd say).

I mean, sure his faults are more of a liability because he's a CEO, but hawk's whining is stupid. He's also wrong that it's "going down the tubes". I'll be there will be a bit of a rough patch, but that's more because his take-it-private tweet than anything. Musk

- Co-founded Zip2 (he walked away with 22 million)
- Co-founded Paypal (walked away with 165 million)
- Found Space X (guess who is most likely to help us get to Mars). Still involved.
- Co-founded Neuralink (exploring treatment of brain disease w/ ultimate eye to mental enhancement). Still involved.
- Founded "The Boring Company" (working on hyperloops and improved tunnel boring machines to bore routes to help relieve congestion under cities). Still involved.

How many people build that kind of record and run three companies without fraying a bit at the edges?

Jealousy saps the soul. Let it go. He's not inherited wealth. He has a track record of doing big things. So he stumbled. Whatever. He's human. I suspect the most that'll happen is that the board will lean on him to delegate more and relax a bit.

That can be hard for someone on full throttle, but hey. I'd hold off on the doom and gloom predictions.

What a great American you are, "cheering for failure", but be sure and let us know next time Musk asks for a government bailout. The really bad news Musk fans should be concerned about is that Apple stole back one of Tesla's chief design engineers, a former Apple employee who is returning to the fold to work on Apple's autonomous car project.

Their latest concept rendering looks more like an Apple mouse than a car.

But I suppose if you're maybe five feet four you won't have any trouble fitting into it.

This thread is not about me, it is the examination of truth.

Maybe car buyers too...do you(F) really want to get stuck with a Tesla with the firm out of business?

The collapse appears to be imminent.

Big dreams require big sacrifice and going against the status quo. I'm rooting for him. He's very forward thinking, does bite off a lot, but his vision IMO is the right stuff.
He calls the fully automated manufacturing dream "The Dreadnought" I believe. I get it.

The last Apple concept car looks like a car that would have been on the original TRON film.

I'm not a fan of the cars so even if I could afford one there would be no worry there for me. I like the guy because he is an innovator. I get a kick at how many on the left praise him for it. If he was a conservative they would be complaining that he is greedy and exemplifies everything that's wrong with capitalism.

IDK you are the second to say that opinion on Musk runs partisan, but I don't know that is true.

My problem is his recklessness...taking on to much work, taking too many risks and too many stupid risks.

The thing is that yet again the wheels have come off the Apple Bus when there was no Steve Jobs to drive it.

He gambles. He has been very lucky for the most part. I'm not too sure about tesla but many people still support him.

He has been burning good will with abandon...customers, suppliers, workers, wall street....Musk us in very big trouble now...him melting down in public makes it worse. He likely thinks that he is messaging "See I am just like you, give me a break please", but that is not what most people read...leaders dont get to be like followers, they have to be better.

I heard about his meltdown but have not seen it yet.

Another bit of news which I will not link because I have to work on my phone because my computer will not connect (if anyone who understands this stuff would like to help please see me in the tech support forum)....the news is that Musk is giving his much abused workers paid time off trying to keep their loyalty, so Tesla is missing production targets badly.

That kind of thing goes hand in hand with genius innovators. Whoever heard of an innovator that plays it safe?

They have to ride an edge, something Musk never figured out, he always thinks more is better because he believes in himself....he thinks it will all work out.....Just as my Friend the Fundamentalist said when I asked him why he had 6 kids when he was still trying to finish is PHD "It will all work out, God will provide".

Doing it right includes being responsible with risk taking, as the great men of old understood, the Modern Morons not so much.

I just saw an interview he just did with a YouTuber. I'm thoroughly impressed by him. I've rarely seen a CEO who knows the details the way he does.

If you invested in Tesla 5 years ago, you doubled your money.
