Gotta be careful in bear country alright. Wear bells so you can be heard coming and carry pepper spray. You can tell if you're in black bear or grizzly bear country by the scat. Black bear poop is full of berries and plant material, and grizzly bear scat has bells in it and smells like pepper.

Grizzly bears love pepper it adds flavor to otherwise bland white meat

I have been in bear country a lot... around mostly brown bears in the Sierra Nevada's.

Yeah, you might avoid being murdered it you come. And if Canada isn't your cup of tea, you can always go to Niger or Rwanda, or even NK. All have lower homicide rates than the USA.

Of course they aren't, neither are the Americans here like myself who object to an out of control unstable child in the white house. And our allies and enemies in the rest of the world are quite aware of the unhinged character in Washington, although some of those may be anti-American for various reasons.

Oddly enough, the highest murder rates in Canada are in rural areas while in the States the urban areas have the highest rates.
There's probably at least three complicated reasons for that.

I spent the fourth of July in WA, celebrating The States birthday with my American friends.

They like me and don't think I'm anti-American at all, even when I speak out against racists and racism.

Why would I spend my hard earned vacation dollars on their economy when Alaska is ours!
