Multiculturalism Reaches a Tipping Point in South Africa

Using the term multiculturalism in your title was misguided to begin with.

The violence in SA is nothing more than a predictable backlash after a long history of oppression.

People do no forgive overnight.

As I asked someone before, is this really your response? We should not care about this because, "eh, they had it coming"?

Guess what else Rhodesia was once known for?

Being a tolitarian, white supremacist hellhole.

But I'm not suprised you think apartheid was a good thing. And before you start screaming "but that was South Africa"--- South Africa propped up the Rhodesians for many years after the rest of the west looked away in disgust.

Zimbabwe is the world's fastest shrinking economy.

And it's taken a heavy toll on life expectancy.

No one has claimed that they 'had it coming'.

Then what's the point of even bringing up apartheid? Why is that a proper response to this violence?

What words did I use that indicated to you where I didn't care?

Did you actually think for one moment that many of the black people wouldn't take some sort revenge?

It may be different lands, different people, different sets of cultures and values, but it always comes down to hate & revenge.

The fact is you never indicated any sort of care or sadness over it, and went straight to assigning blame. That's pretty cold.

I know that this goes against the propaganda over the past few decades, but South Africa is not a post-racial paradise. In fact, it looks like it's heading toward genocide, or at least civil war.

Another race thread from phattonez. So... what do you suppose we should do about our multiculturalism her in the US? How do you suggest we fix it?

No, it wasn't. You're just spewing crap.

That's what I was thinking. The only thing I'm aware of is acknowledging the monumental step forward by ending government-sanction racial oppression via apartheid. That's was a big deal but it definitely doesn't mean that things were all A-OK or that thinks can't take a turn for the worse.

It's amazing how you can make a thread about a real threat of genocide, and the anti-racists come out and totally ignore it while calling you a bigot.

I didn't call you anyting. YOu are just playing the victim like you always do. I simply asked:

What do you suppose we should do about our multiculturalism her in the US? How do you suggest we fix it?

Don't worry, I fully expect you to dodge it again.

It's amazing how you ignore the first sentence of your post. How dishonest of you. And notice how you completely ignore the subject of South Africa.

And you dodged just as expected.

Again, you are not a victim. I didn't call you anything. So stop crying already.

The gist of your post is that multiculturism is bad. What do you think the US should do about it's multiculturalism?

If you want to talk about that subject I'll gladly answer it in another thread. Don't hijack my thread and totally ignore the subject at hand.

I think that their problems go deeper than racial.

Want to expand on that?

The country is in relatively bad shape independent of the races. Corruption is rife, large parts of the population are poorly trained and live in horrible ghettos. Withing the black population the tensions are as high as against whites.

Trouble being there would be more of them than you........I believe you would 'haul freight!'
There were many more of them than Europeans the first time around. How did that superior numbers thing work out?

I think a conversation about how people can live and work together would be a lot more productive than one about who can kill who better.
