I do accept that many people believe that abortion destroys a life and they are against it and I think they should act on their beliefs by never getting an abortion. What I do not accept are those same people getting the government to change the laws so that everybody must follow whether they believe the same as you or not. Banning abortion is unconstitutional on quite a lot of levels.

You are free to believe. You are free to act on your beliefs. You are not free to force everybody else to live your belief.

Of course I can. I have no problem with that.

However when you consider the horrific toll it (making abortion illegal) would take on individual women and women in society and society...it seems clear that those that believe as you state shouldnt be able to force their belief on women that dont believe the same way. It would mean the govt would be obligated to force women to remain pregnant against our will...something I feel is "wrong."

You provide the typical pro slaughter rhetoric that does its level best to dehumanize the unborn children that you slaughter. I dont blame you. If I stood for the butchering of 800,000 unborn children a year in this country alone I would do my level best to try to avoid the fact that the unborn child I was killing was an unborn child. Id try to avoid the fact that there is nothing BUT a fully grown, fully developed baby that it would ever grow to become by trying to dehumanize it to nothing but a clump of cells. It would make monstrous actions less monstrous....hideous acts, less hideous.

Im sure to you, when a woman miscarries, its no big deal....after all...its just a clump of cells. If someone else causes the death of the unborn child, its no big deal...its just an unborn child. Heck...you probably have yourself convinced there is some magic moment where it goes from inhuman 'thing' to life. But its all just a means to mask a very horrible end. I understand.

Let me examine the (incorrect, in your opinion) reason the right gives for not wanting any abortion. The one where a claim is made the fetus is a human being. Actually, the fetus is a potential human being.

Pro-choice advocates claim that the fetus isn't a human being so it doesn't deserve any rights. Particularly the right to life. Pro-choice advocates claim the fetus is property of the mother or a parasite of the mother.
Tell me, which other organism save for the fetus turns into a human being?

Why is it always what the woman wants to do with the unborn? She did not get into that position by herself, suppose the father of that child wanted his offspring to live, where is his right, after all it did not happen without him. So, what if the father agreed to pay for all expenses incurred and when the woman gives birth to the child she did not want, she hands the child to the father who assumes sole responsibility for the child and she waves all her claims to the child she did not want? How many would agree to that?
