IQ tests make a series of assumptions about the background of the participant, and are therefore sometimes unreliable if the participant doesn't have that background. Any number of people can have a non-ideal background for a variety of reasons -- cultural bias being one. Science regards IQ tests as useful, but also with a certain degree of caution and tends to take live interviews into consideration when issuing them (for example, if we are trying to determine the intellectual functioning of someone with a mental disability). IQ tests are pretty much never relied on as a sole source of information.

We are not exactly sure what they measure, for that reason. From what I have learned about them, I tend to favor the idea that they mostly measure knowledge acquisition, and some degree of spacial ability -- in ideal participants. They correlate quite well to SAT's, which are more a measure of your knowledge acquisition than a fundamental potential for intelligence, which is something generally regarded as difficult to know with certainty, since early life sets the stage for the future, and obviously we don't give IQ tests to babies.

So, often, IQ tests don't prove what the name necessarily implies. They're useful in certain clinical or job placement settings, but don't clearly answer the question of fundamental potential.

But of course, that isn't the point of Trump's challenge, or MENSA's offer. Both are pretty much just about the respective party's egos.
 
Aren’t IQ tests flawed in that they do not necessarily transfer to real life situations. I went to school with a very intelligent underclassman. He always scored very high in class rankings, but lacked common sense/street smarts. Almost like he needed help tying his shoes.

As for Trumps IQ ? He's not the blubbering fool the Lef makes him out to be

He's was a successful real estate mogul before he was our President and the Left doesnt have much room to talk considering who they put into the WH in 2008 and 2012 and considering their support for Bernie Sanders.

I wouldn't call Obama stupid. He managed to sneak into the WH just like Trump, with little or no qualifications. Both managed to stick it to Hillary. So the only difference is that one is a black liberal and the other is a white wannabe conservative. Attacking the former is racism, attacking the latter is cool.

Dude seriously? Our blowhard in chief hasn't passed a single piece of legislation with both a republican house and senate. I'd say you don't have a leg to stand on.
