It's nice to see at least the Hill published the classy act of First Lady Melania. I doubt I will read or hear about it in the MSM. In fact, International news media have done a more fair coverage of our First Lady than anything I have found in the states nationally. Now there's been some really good stories where she shows up locally for different causes but not nationally. In fact I have not found one magazine cover highlighting the First Lady Trump nor picture of her on the cover. Michelle Obama, Hillary Clinton, Barbara Bush, Laura Bush, Nancy Reagan, Rosalynn Carter, Pat Nixon, Betty Ford, on down had their pictures pasted across magazines continuously. Not Melania.
Many in the fashion industry from the time Trump won the presidency swore they would not design clothing for Melania Trump. Well too bad for them. The woman has not had a hard time finding others to design her clothing or even items found on the rack at upscale department stores. She always looks fabulous and well put together.
And the media well they trash her for her high heels or for wearing her coats over the shoulder.
This past Christmas Melania was in charge of the Christmas decorations at the White House. The media trashed them. But in truth they were absolutely beautiful..and the first guests to enjoy them were children from schools in poverty districts and they were filled with special activities with the First Lady. Did the MSM report on that one? Nah. Melania was in charge of the Easter celebration at the WH too. And how did the media respond to the activities? Well a reporter from CNN took an innocent occasion for children with the First Family engaging in activities with the children to keep shouting out questions about DACA.
Melania Trump in her first year in the White House has been working to open more of the Peoples House to the public. She has managed so far to include the theatre as part of the tour. There wasn't much coverage about that either.
Melania also cut the budget for the First Lady significantly saving taxpayers a good chunk of change and once again there was little coverage on that either.
Well the first State dinner being held at the Trump WH is nearing. They will be welcoming President Macron of France. Instead of hiring such an event out like other presidents have, Melania is planning the event. Once again saving taxpayers money. It will be for a guest list of about 250. No Democrat Congress critters were extended an invitation. However the Democrat Governor of Louisiana and his wife are guests. Only a few Republican Congress critters were invited. And no invitations extended to the media. The White House photo group no doubt will take pictures of the event.
So kudos to the Hill for reporting this story. I won't hold my breath to find it reported on MSNBC, CNN, ABC, CBS or NBC.
Melania is gorgeous.Trump is a lucky man.He has the money, the power and the p****y.
Do you think Putin got some of that while him and Trump were colluding? Why didn't trump bring Stormy Daniels also?.....He paid her enough

Sometimes you have to take a look at what is reported. Melanie taking the staff to the funeral was reported by Vanity Fair, Washington Post, MSN, ABC news, People, and tons of others.
Melania has been an unfair target of some of Trump's opponents, but to be fair, she has been a rather reluctant participant. She is now the most popular Trump, according to recent polls, and I hope she continues to comport herself the way she has, and to make an impact in areas that she might.
I have read that the state dinner is expected to be a huge extravaganza, so I will be interested to see how taxpayers are saving money. That is fascinating.
Also, edited to add...I wonder what the advantage is to having no democrats, and a handful of republicans. Who exactly is attending? Private business, who?
Have to find the guest list.
Michelle had no class?
Before Mrs. Trump, Laura Bush was the last FLOTUS with real class.
I would love to see the links you claim of all the media that reported this story. It would be nice for once to see Melania treated with a little respect.

All I can say is, classy.
It isn't me who is interfering with praise for Mrs. Trump.
Of course it is. Once again, it's an apdst "look at me, look at me" post.
Shocker, there.

Once again, you want to make the thread about me.
Shocker, there. :lamo
It isn't going to be as big as past state dinners, actually and it isn't being billed as such.
No, I agree it is very limited in size of guest list. But it has been billed as an over the top extravaganza. I guess we will see. I am quite interested in who qualifies to attend a "state" dinner if the elected officials of the country don't make that grade. I do hope to see the guest list. Also press is banned, and none invited (surprise!) I hope the Macron's enjoy....they are important allies.
Pretty sure you made the thread about you, back on post #2.
But that's OK, apdst. We know how you feel about beautiful, smart, independent woman of color. They frighten you. We know.

We've already saved money. This is Trump's first state dinner, and he is in his second year.
Obama had 5 state dinners in his first 3 years alone.
"... CBS News published the costs of President Obama’s first five state dinners, given from 2009 to 2011. On the low end was a 2011 dinner for South Korean president Lee Myung-Bak, which cost $203,053, according to CBS. News reports indicated there were about 200 guests, which put the per-head cost at about $1,000.
The most expensive dinner reported by CBS was a 2009 event for the Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh. It cost $572,187, according to CBS. That was more than $1,700 per head. ..."
