Meghan McCain 'surprised' White House official not fired over comment about John McCain's health

A whataboutism! Imagine that! Another Trump supporter acknowledging Trump's indefensible actions. Unable to defend him, the poster resorts to the feeble: bring others into the muck with him. Thanks for the concession.

BTW. You are responding to MY post. Since I would never stoop to that level with Dick Cheney, your response to my post is a non-response. You free to address the specific post made. You are not free to suggest I fit into one of your boxes.

a- not a Trump supporter but an observer
b- it is a fact, not a whataboutism
c- I addressed that very specific post
Carry on with box fitting.

I'm surprised that McCain is such an ass.

He still has his right to his opinion. Not sure about his state of health though, and how much it influences his opinions. Like I mentioned before, a gentleman would go out with dignity, but either way, he is in my thoughts and prayers simply because he is a human being.
The lady who made these comments should dig deep into her soul and realize that such words speak volumes about her.
Also, we don't have to become like that just because we hear and read about others actions and words. Compassion and love for our fellow human beings should dictate how we interact with each other. Pointing to one side or the other is senseless when discussing this, because both sides of the political spectrum are known to be less than kind. So lets do ourselves a favor and do better.

He was an ass before he was sick...and he didn't even act like he wanted to win in 2008.

Saying something in private should not be a fire able offense.

The person that decimated that private comment should be fired.

Yes, that's right. It's not the person who farted in the elevator that's the problem; it's the person who reported it.

...actually, its not a "fact".... your comments about Cheney are a "recollection" You are working from memory of how people treated Cheney at one time, but your memory is likely warped and certainly not fact based. Maybe it was one / some persons / 1000 persons said something rude about Cheney and you are now choosing to ascribe that as a character of a group people. Its a impression; not a fact. As an impression of a past event, your perceptions are likely skewed far from reality.

You did not address the post, because you could not. The post was about Trump's outrageous behavior. I made no mention of Cheney. You offered up Cheney as a feeble "whataboutism" because you know Trump's actions are indefensible. Duly noted by all.

I stand corrected on calling you a Trump supporter.

A lot of faux outrage being shown over a rude comment.
CNN is still melting down over it.
I'm sure that some will find a way to get over it.
After all, tomorrow will be a new Trump crisis.
Gotta' keep that ax swinging with the resisters.

CNN needed this to get Eric Schneiderman off the front page.
The pro-women party is so quick to tie a rock around Sadler's waist and toss her into the Potomac, uterus and all.

This was a not nice thing to say. It was disrespectful.
If this is repeated behavior, then perhaps she should be fired. If this was a really bad joke, in poor taste, which was said when she thought no one was listening, yes, those are mitigating factors that should be weighed.
Sadler apologized privately, before the sun went down that very day.
I could regale you of much, much worse things said about Trump, his family and his administration from people in media and politics who still have their jobs.

So spare me the vapors. Really.

Right now, the only person in that WH who should be fired is the traitor who leaked it.

Meghan McCain said she's "surprised" that the White House aide who made disparaging comments about her father has not been fired.

"The thing that surprises me most is ... I don't understand what kind of environment you're working in when that would be acceptable and you can come to work the next day and still have a job," McCain, a co-host on "The View," said today on the show.

Just confirms my opinion is that the WH is a chaotic & toxic mess.

It’s called trickle down demeaning. It starts at the top.

This is from this morning.
isn't it time for 'Dick' to have another coronary episode?

Classy? LOL a lot more damn honest? Hell yes.

Yes, it's "honest" to giggle about a man dying who has served this country well and faithfully for decades. Honest in the land of ignorant Trump Fan Nation, anyway. It isn't honest in the decent pockets of society.

It is also telling of the anti Trump nation to wish any person falls ill. See my post above yours.
Very distasteful, all of it, but not one sided.

You're comparing the words of someone on an anonymous message board with someone who is an official in the White House?

Seriously?

We can spend all day with that. Shall I post the words of Trinnity and some of the other Trump Fan Nation posters on here posting how they want McCain to hurry up and die? Because they did.

The words on this anonymous message board are irrelevant and meaningless. The words coming from an official in the White House are not.

Two things:

1. Democrats had the same feelings about McCain that Trump did before Trump said them.
2. Things like this are said all the time in political meetings when they think no one is listening. This, and much worse things to be honest. Not very shocking like people are making it out to be.

1. Not they didn't. Attacking McCain for his service and attacking his illness have only/are only being done by his own party.
2. What exactly is this based on? Obviously this type of talk is normal in the Trump White House and the Trump White House seems to say a lot of the things that were previously unacceptable.

So, no, not everyone does it and it's not acceptable for me and I'm sure other Americans.

Don't get so defensive all the time. TB, read again, distasteful.....I don't give a rip who does it. That includes people in the WH.

Then take it up with the poster who posted it. And all the others who have posted similar things. They have nothing, and I mean, nothing to do with me or with my post, which isn't about other DP posters. It's about the White House.

No, because he's dying of brain cancer. Did you forget about that? He's dying in weeks.

This is the kind of explanation you have to give to a child who's making fun of his schoolmates dying parent. I can't believe I need to explain this to you. Whatever happened to basic common decency?

If McCain is dying in weeks as you say, and certainly his brain functions are impaired by the disease and drugs, let Arizona hold a special election to replace McCain right now who certainly can't lend his total mental effort to being a senator. The people of the US and the people of Arizona deserve that.

Really? The truth is that everybody is dying. Does that mean their opinions don't matter?

It matters when their job is to think and those brain functions are impaired. McCain's opinions as a person count but not necessarily his opinions as a US Senator.

We don't know for sure how far his cancer is advanced.

Yet, the dems were/are quick to declare Trump unfit for office due to 'mental' issues. Is McCain unfit for office due to mental issues?

Seems his thinking processes are impaired. For example in his book, he stated he would've had a better chance of being elected president if his running mate were Lieberman instead of Palin.

EDIT: Further explanation. The dems had their African-American savior, Obama. No dem would've voted for a McCain/Lieberman ticket. Fewer GOPs would've voted for a McCain/Lieberman ticket than a McCain/Palin ticket. That's Palin...no Freudian slip, here.

Or may be he is sincere and having regrets.

Or maybe he just doesn't know that much about politics?

Your argument is about his state of mind, the progression of his illness. Lets set politics aside for a minute, lets set support for this one or that one aside. Speculating on his illness is nonsense.
