Media Double Down After New York Times Gets Busted Peddling Fake News

So...as someone who is "slightly liberal", what's your take?

My take is that the Failing NYT got caught with their pants down. Much of the media on the Left basically holds any position that is anti-Trump, which causes them to be wrong, a lot. This is the same thing that happened to Fox News and other media on the Right, when they started defining themselves as anything against Obama. I equally mocked the Right Wing media back then.

If the OP article is accurate in the quotes and sources it uses, then it would appear that the NYT made major errors in both its choice of words and it’s claims regarding Trump.

There are more than enough real and concerning actions by Trump, that no member of the media would ever need to allow their biases to color the truth or facts, or what appears to have happened in this instance - make up things that didn’t happen or were not said.

What's the "fake news" here, exactly?

That the NYT is failing. They are in great shape. The fact is that Trump wants the NYT to be strong so he can keep leaking to them.

This is typical of Trump. He often claims some report is totally false and then falls back to some insignificant part of the report that wasn't entirely correct.

Hey. My favorite 'Slightly Liberal' Trumper attacking the press. What a surprise!

I'm not attacking the press in it's entirely. I'm attacking specific press. Is the press beyond accountability? Notice that you didn't claim here that I was wrong.

No I didn't. Your mind reading has failed you.

You aren't the first person here to lie about their lean and pretend they didn't vote for the politician they relentlessly defend.

But I proudly state that I voted for Donald Trump. That doesn't make me a Conservative. How is it lying if I tell the Truth that I voted for Trump, and I really like him, but that I'm also slightly liberal? It makes me wonder if these other people you talk about were really lying or if you just made up that they are lying to vilify those you disagree with.

Hey YOU voted for a post truth America.

Don't cry now...

Oh.....

So you aren't denying that you voted for Trump, you're just denying that he has by this point told over 3,000 immediately debunked lies since becoming president, debunked with links in every article that produces the full list, since starting the campaign?

The turd has openly admitted to lying about opponents just so people who buy his lies don't believe his opponents or, for example, the people who have reported his having so admitted. I mean, it's not necessary to care about whether he admitted it. He says something and all someone has to do is post a ***ing picture or an encyclopedia section to debunk it. But his supporters lap it right up because it might annoy a "leftist".

Do you really want to destroy the last refuges of our tottering "democracy" to protect your own sense of self-respect for having voted for this embodiment of the worst in humanity?

ok ok. Not literally the worst. He's not Stalin, Hitler, or Genghis Khan. He's an incompetent asshole, scoundrel, and general pile of festering ****. Not the same as being evil, but also not an advertisement. I am sorry for you that you are proud.

Let me guess: I said bad things about the Master, so I must but a poopyface liberal and therefore proved Trump right by saying bad things about Trump. About the size of it? Don't bother.

I deny that measuring lies by any sort of number makes sense, and I deny the veracity of the number. Anybody can measure the amount of lies one tells in hundred different ways to come up with whatever numbers they want. Furthermore, some lies are more egregious than others. And finally, a lie implies intent to knowingly give a false statement. Nobody knows the intent he has, and nobody knows if he knowingly gave false statements. Also, a lot of statements you would consider false I wouldn't, so to pretend that that is an arbiter of right and wrong is foolish. You are the epitome of partisan delusion, or what many Trump supporters call Trump Derangement Syndrome. You are probably a much smarter person than this, but like many who hate Trump, you become completely irrational when talking about him.
