This is completely different than what McCain is famous for, advocating US military intervention almost everywhere. Giving Montenegro NATO membership and protections is not warmongering, it's preserving peace by putting up big stop signs in front of the Spetsnaz and Putin, which would be less likely to invade like they did in Georgia's South Ossetia and Abkhazia, or like they still are in Ukraine's Donbass or the Crimea.

Rand Paul actually screwed over world peace by his vote this time. He gave Putin the green light.

This has nothing to do with Russia. The question was "Is Montenegro worthy of being in NATO". The answer is "no" and McCain can go **** off. in my never humble opinion, rand paul was acting in the best interest of the United States. appending montenegro into the alliance of NATO countries is not in the member nations' interest. montenegro has less than 2000 military personnel. extending NATO coverage would compel the US/NATO countries to come to its military aid. who wants to expend American lives and national treasure to assure the security of montenegro
and if there is a compelling reason to assist montenegro from russian aggression, that can still occur, but such response will not be compulsory as it would be if this nation were added to the NATO alliance

Is that what you think NATO is? I wonder what Libya thinks about that. We are moving into increased tensions against Russia and it's already causing significant human suffering (see proxy war in Syria). The only reason why Russia came and sat on Crimea was stop stop our military expansionism. You think they should do nothing while being surrounded by an anti-Russian alliance and attack their allies?
