Liberal billionaire tom steyer donates another $10 million to trump impeachment efforts

Ask yourselves, what’s so radical about protecting retirement income,

Nobody is against that. Solutions may differ but let's avoid demoguing.
expanding health care
Definite divide in opinions about this.

If I understand the lefts position correctly you all believe that Healthcare is so important it should be free.

I believe if it's important it should cost what it's worth.

and reining in runaway bankers,

I'm not opposed to this statement generically but it's so vague I have no idea what your referring to.

and taxing rich people who have far more ability to pay higher taxes than workers?

Why do you believe rich people have a bigger financial obligation to society than those less financially capable but at the same time believe that those that contribute more are entitled to less ? It seems to be a reoccurring sentiment and I don't understand the logic.
If you say, nothing, then you can only conclude that Democratic positions are mainstream.

I said plenty, stop being smug and have an open conversation.

Now, let's compare Democratic positions with Republicans. The GOP tried to blackmail Bill Clinton into cutting Medicare. George W. Bush, along with Paul Ryan, tried to privatize Medicare and raise the retirement age under Social Security. Trump and his GOP voted to cut taxes on the rich that fund Obamacare subsidies -- taking a funding source away that subsidies middle class health insurance. Republicans have also undermined financial reform, which helped stabilize the economy and protected many Americans from Wall Street fraud. [/QUOTE]

I'm sitting at a bar and I'm going to skip the partisan score keeping.

I would contend that the evidence concludes that Republicans are the radicals out-of-step from the mainstream.

Your contention is in error

The global super rich do hate President Trump in his opposition to unlimited cheap migrant labor to keep American wages at the absolute minimum while eliminating the last of the trade unions, plus at the same time the President opposes their sending even American jobs to the foreign child labor sweatshops they run.

Plenty of these rich white assholes support trump, he hired a bunch of these goons to be around him while he gives them tax breaks

Democrats have pissed off fly-over country.
Pissed off unions.
Blacks and Latino’s are joining the GOP in ever growing numbers.
Independents, after witnessing Trump’s economic Tour de Force, are willing to risk spoiling it with Socialists?
The economy is functioning well again after 8-years of Obama failure.

And Democrats spent 18-months in a toxic Circle Fest about Russia, with the goal of trying to eject Trump.

Democrats have seen so much failure... and their offering of:

1. Impeachment.

2. Tax increases.

3. Open Borders...

Is that really going to be your winning ticket in 11-weeks?

ROTFLOL...

I think they’ve dug... The Blue Grave.

Tom Steyer is helping fund it, and Pelosi is helping run it... into the ground.

LOL...

Only time will tell if you are right or wrong. There's less then 100 days until the elections take place. Remember, the only poll that matters is the one that is conducted on election day. All others are mere window dressing.

Is that why Scott Walker is down 13 points in his attempt at re-election?

HAHAHAHAHAHA!!!! I just can't imagine the sickness of mind it takes to believe something this stupid. You elected a man who called our first African American president a secret Muslim and claimed he was born in Kenya. He's an overt racist that is beloved by the KKK. You're stealing latino children from their mothers, locking them in cages, and injecting them with drugs to keep them from crying, and you think Black's and Latino's are loving you for it.

Aside from the Obama stuff, you are basically off the mark on everything else.

Too bad, I thought you were actually returning to reality, or coming closer to it at the very least.

Rich dude making huge political donations? The Libbos are going to be pissed off at him.

I thought the Dems were trying to keep big money out of politics, oh wait....................................................................................................Soros

Yes, Democrats generally believe that large contributions to CAMPAIGNS should be limited. Thanks for quickly morphing that into "politics" which includes issues, not candidates.

The reality is that as long as we're still a free country, Mr. Steyer has the right to spend his own money buying TV time for whatever issue he chooses.

The only people who think that Democrats are "far left" are Republicans. The reality is that most believe that Democratic positions ARE MAINSTREAM. Most voters believe that Medicare, Medicaid and Social Security should be protected against Republican attempts to cut them. Most voters believe that Obamacare should be strengthened, not eliminated. Most voters believe that the rich should pay higher taxes and are against the GOP tax cuts.

It isn't that Democrats shifted to the left, Republicans have shifted back in time a few centuries. They don't believe in science or in a safety net.

Why should we continue to fund of some of the most expensive federal programs (e.g. Medicare and Social Security) mostly by a flat rate payroll tax with no deductions, credits or exclusions and fund the least expensive federal programs (what we now call 'discretionary' federal spending) by a very progressive income tax paid mostly by "the rich"? If anything, that seems to be the opposite of what you say that the demorats want.

The same is true of business income taxation - Walmart pays the same flat federal income tax rate as the operator of a taco truck does.

If one looks at the reality of Medicare current user funding with its (mostly) fixed premiums they find some (like me) must 'divert' about 8% of their Social Security (SS) back as their 'fair share' of Medicare premium funding while others (like my girlfriend) must 'divert' about 20% of their SS back as their 'fair share' of Medicare premium funding. That is exactly the opposite of progressive taxation - yet you praise the concept of protecting (conserving?) Medicare 'as is'.

Another insane situation is that since my girlfrind and I cohabitate (comprise a single household) then her SS income of $800/month ($666/month after Medicare premiums are deducted) or $9.6K/year (a tad under $8K/year after Medicare expenses) is 'too high' (when combined with mine) to qualify her for Medicaid.

I'm all for making program funding more progressive but right now the effort needs to be spent keeping Republicans from shaving or eliminating these programs, which they try to do whenever they are in power.

The GOP has also lost the Koch Network.

The USA is indeed coming together Against this GOP Pestilence.

Communism was "mainstream" in Russia. It still sucked and people didn't like it.

If socialism is so great, why is it always mandatory?

GOP Regulars demanding Democrats being a rhetorical knife to a rhetorical gun fight. Well played.

We WILL Use your GOP tools against you. You can count on that.

Your Soros boogieman is lamestram at best.

GOP Fascism is the scourge of the Planet, an electoral Bubonic Plague.

Ask all those Hundreds of Slaughtered Priests and Nuns in Franco’s Spain about this version of GOP Fascism.

Give us an example of "GOP fascism".

Ask the 100 million people who have been murdered by socialists how great socialism is. How are things going in Venezuala? How are things in South Africa?

Dude needs to up his commitment. The Right has a 100 guys donating $10M to fool stupid people and **** us all over.

1) I'm all for making program funding more progressive but right now the effort needs to be spent 2) keeping Republicans from shaving or eliminating these programs, which they try to do whenever they are in power.

1) Why was that not done instead of PPACA (which did nothing for us) when demorats ruled exclusively?

2) The latest demorat 'new deal' seems to be to add 'free' college (a new federal entitlement?) which is far from an exciting concept for seniors like us. BTW, when did the republicants (who are said to hold majority power now) shave or eliminate any SS/Medicare benefits? We can't get too excited about demorat (socialist?) Medicare 'for all' plans either since we already 'enjoy' those benefits.

Exactly what is socialist about Medicare plans or actually any plan a Democrat has proposed. Its easy to throw that name around but do you really know what it is?

I have no problem with Mr. Steyer spending his money in politics. I do think that the distinction between campaigns and politics can be blurry at best. Thus I never saw the big deal about citizens united but that is just me.

Socialism is an economic system, not a political system. Most economies in the world are mixed, because it is superior to have a system that provides for the large majority of people by taxing wealth, which is superior to the claw in tooth capitalism that existed before the New Deal. If you ask senior citizens whether they like Medicare or whether they would want to eliminate it in favor of the system before 1965 -- that was unaffordable to most seniors because they were poor risks to insurance companies, almost all of them would favor Medicare.

In Germany there is universal health care which is mandatory -- hark! They force everyone to be part of it! It must be inferior, right? No, medical outcomes are better and it's cheaper than our system.

Unlike SS, one's Medicare benefits are not now based on one's past 'contributions' and all must pay a flat rate tax and its users pay a fixed monthly premium.

Socialism is a government run program where funding is based on one's perceived ability to pay and benefits are shared equally, while communism is a government program where funding is based on one's perceived ability to pay and benefits are based on one's perceived need.

Would you please name these 100 or provide a link. I call B.S. to this. Although there is plenty of money being spent by both sides. With a 4 trillion budget, campaign contributions are in essence better than any investment a company can make.

There is a whole lot more to the definition of socialism that that sentenced you looked up. Obviously you cannot fully explain in your own words.
