But the idea that liberalism, which is using the power of government to make people's lives better, should be opposed by those being helped, makes no sense. However, it is a narrative that the wealthy elite, that doesn't want to pay the price to make ordinary lives better, tries to propagate with articles such as the OP's. While the masses fight, the wealthy are raking in the bulk of national income.
Liberals only want to help themselves. All of their solutions and their ideas about supposedly helping people involve getting more power and resources under their control.
