Lane Splitting

When traffic is like that I certainly wish I was on a bike instead of just sitting there inching along...

I think I am beginning to understand why this thread was started..........

Not at all... I rode bikes for a while and chose not to anymore...

I made the same decision. After many tour rides and thousands upon thousands of miles riding with only a couple of minor spills I quit. Figured law of averages was catching up on me.

I didn't ride for long but I did dirt bike for a couple years... I guess that is not long either.

Whether it is supposed to happen or not, here in IL we don't do that. First time I ever saw something like this was in LosA, it was like watching Moses part the Red Sea. I was stuck on the 110 and all the sudden cars started inching left and the lane next to me to the right. Next thing you saw was a group of 3 motorcyclists puttering down the center of two lanes the cars had made room for . Blew me away...

It was my first experience with motorists making mistakes and screaming out apologies for their faux pas....and other courteous gestures...

It is a magical place.
