Kyrie Irving asks for trade

Why? You find a good deal on some spurs gear and need a new bandwagon to hop on?

I'm a Lakers fan 4 life. I was a diehard fan of the showtime Lakers.

Makes sense. Gilbert is a jerk . Lebron is probably leaving. Not that Kyrie was exactly a good fit with Lebron anyway.

I'd ship Ki to Minnesota and get Wiggens back. I think both teams would make that trade. Then bring in Derrick Rose to play PG. Give it one good run, and watch the team blow up when LeBron goes to ?????

Pretty good article here in SB Nation discussing Kyrie's limitations as a potential superstar who can play the lead roles, offensively and defensively, on a winning team and take them to the promise land.

Bottom line:
This isn’t to say that Kyrie doesn’t know how to play basketball or that he doesn’t study tape and watch as much as he can. But pre-LeBron, Kyrie seemed like that kind of player, the type who refined his skills to perfection and didn’t really understand how to bring his teammates along with him. The result was a string of trips to the NBA draft lottery.

And, he has still to win a single game when LeBron is not playing.

Realistically, Irving is not even a competent 2nd piece on a contending team. As a timberwolves fan, I wouldn't be a fan of the trade.

He's amazing when he is on and hot. But, man, he sure can disappear and, worse, launch a lot of silly shots. In essence, he is a ball hog who can't play defense but plays like Dr J now and then.

He also has injury issues.

I am too but I am not sure if I can remain one if LeBron joins the team...

Kyrie is no AI, that is for sure...

I read that the Cavs picked up Rose. If he even plays halfway up to his potential, that could be interesting indeed.

Kyrie, OTOH, is a whiny little Bitch. Most people would kill to be on LeBron's finals team. Irving apparently would rather be on a lottery team.

Nonsene. Kyrie is a good pg. If it wasn't for the Warriors, the Cavs would have 3-peated. The problem is that they didn't win a championship and Kyrie is not going to sacrifice his game if they are going to get stomped by the warriors.

Kyrie/Lebron is very similar imo to Kobe/Shaq. Kyrie is a very smart man. He isn't going to stick around to see the Cavs implode. I wouldn't want to play for Dan Gilbert, he's not someone that knows how to win.

If Kyrie had showed up for games one and two, and if he hadn't heaved that stupid three at the end of Game 3, they actually might have won. Kyrie is a great when he is hot, he sucks when he is not.

Has he even won a game when Lebron sits? Lottery man. That's Kyrie.

You are blaming the Cavs losing the series on Kyrie? Seriously???

He was the reason why they won the series last year! He abused Steph Curry on defense. Give me a break! Talk about a turncoat fan.

He's also injury prone.

Right now. I trust Derrick Rose's knees more than Kyrie's.

I remember in the NBA thread you said Kyrie Irving as a top 5 player and better than Wesbrook and Harding.

That was just a few months ago.

LeBron runs the Cavs with his posse. He has some friend named Maverick Carter managing his money and his agent in Rich Paul. Basically a bunch of his friends/"yes" men who do what he says.

That was before he laid an egg in three of five games against GS. But, yeah. In two of those games he was top 5.

And he would be wrong. Kyrie is an offence only point guard who isn't even a point guard.

He averages very few assists, usually 5 fewer than LeBron. And, correct, he does not play defense worth a damn. He is, however, a wizard with the ball when he is on his game, which occasionally makes him look much better than he really is.

Umm, isn't that because the offense runs through LeBron and he handles the ball the majority of the time?

Quick, tell me the pg for the Miami Heat and how many assists did they average?

How about Mo Willliams, when he played in Cleveland?

Kyrie doesn't even get assists when LeBron is on the bench...he is too busy shooting.

We saw a brief taste of a real PG working with LeBron when D Will came to town. Too late to matter, but you could see the potential. Rose averages over 5 assists per game. Let's see how that works.

Deron Williams was garbage playing next to LeBron. I'm not sure what you are talking about.
