At last count recently, there have been three ships loaded with coal from North Korea and off loaded in Russian ports onto other ships bound for South korea and Japan and China in violation of United Nations and United States imposed sanctions. Petroleum sanction have also been met with resistence from China and Russia. Seems to me that there are more than two player countries in this equation. Furthermore Russia has a vested interest in making this presidenty look good. Can we really credit "Fire and Fury like the world has never seen" with all the credit? Or any of it for that matter? Aside from the economic interest mentioned above let's not forget, Mueller is getting closer to the truth, which not only includes Trump inner circle but also 13 Russians and the Son In Law of a Russian Oligarch who is one of Putin's close allys. On substance, there is no indication as to what the topics will be. You also are absurdly wrong that Kim Jong Un is "waving the white flag." He's not going to give up nukes that give NK leverage.

There is also no indication that the 'resistance' is hoping that this breakthrough will be successful. Your post illustrates that.

And, to top off the cake, Kim is going to allow a Trump Tower to be built in the NK capital, using imported steel and aluminum from the US. Pence set up the whole thing while he was at the Olympics and looked all stone faced while there to throw everyone off. Trump has also promised to give his daughter Ivanka to Kim as a gift and collateral in case Trump backs out of the deal. That's why Ivanka was at the olympics, so that Kim could have his aides check her out and report back. She doesn't have a clue what her future is. Jared's going to be in jail anyway. Kim has also decreed that the US National Anthem will be played at all sporting events and everyone is expected to stand or be shot.

Perhaps Kim Jong Un recent appearent change of heart could simply be due to his and his dynastic historical desire, which is to be seen as equals among other national leaders. To accomplish that for North korea it has always been a U.S. and North Korean Summit. Now it appears, Kim Jong Un will get that from this myopic president.
