Mark Judge, the man who Christine Blasey Ford has said was in the room while Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh allegedly assaulted her when they were in high school, has declined to speak before the Senate Judiciary Committee.

Democrats had called for him to do so. But in a statement to committee chairman Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) and Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.), Judge claimed he had no memory of the incident and declined to speak publicly about the allegation.

“I did not ask to be involved in this matter nor did anyone ask me to be involved,” Judge said in a letter signed by his lawyer on Tuesday. “The only reason I am involved is because Dr. Christine Blasey Ford remembers me as the other person in the room during the alleged assault.”

“In fact, I have no memory of this alleged incident,” he added. “Brett Kavanaugh and I were friends in high school but I do not recall the party described in Ford’s letter. More to the point, I never saw Brett act in the manner Dr. Ford describes.”

The last sentence quoting Mark Judge says it all. Read once that the longer something passes, close to 80% of people think they remember clearly but, they misremember or "remember" things that never happened.

Literally, Ms. Ford can testify to all sorts of salacious allegations.

Then all Mr. Kavanaugh has to state is something along the lines of: "I have no recollection of any party that I encountered Ms. Ford at; I never engaged in any of the acts she alleges occurred; I know nothing more of the matter."

Any attempt at probing questions from the Democrats should result in something along the lines of: "I cannot answer because I was not involved in and have no knowledge of the matter."

End of story.

Hearing over, move on to the confirmation.

More than one study has shown that the level of confidence you have in a memory does not correlate with the accuracy of the memory. Often times it is the reverse because the memories we think we remember the most are the ones we recall the most often. But everytime you recall a memory your brain then “refiles” it away, and just like the telephone game little errors can get inserted with each remembering.

I’m not saying that is what happened in this case, just a bit of interesting info.

I wouldn’t want to testify in front of the whole country about something so heated either. If he supports her story crazies on the right will make his life miserable. Judge knows that his book will be a road map to his own public destruction and he wants to avoid this while simply coming down on Kavanaughs side without going through any rough waters.

His stance wants to have it both ways and that should NOT happen.

Feinstein came out yesterday and said she wasn't sure if the accusations were true.
WTH. why would you as a person not knowing if they are true come out and help accuse someone?

I think it would be pretty simple to prove if they are getting death threats. Also, you can't say she lied for sure, you have no evidence it's a lie. She -may- have lied, but she did pass a polygraph.

I'd say indications are the assault was real. I think the jury is out on if it was Kavanaugh or mistaken identity, which is a very real possibility.

Moreover, I find it highly distasteful to assume my stance as a new member of the forum. You don't know my "post" history. Additionally, while I disagree with Trump being fit to be president, and I disagree with plenty his administration has done, I do support small facets of it.
