Kelly has spent a great deal of time, trying to pretend he is not anti gun. He is. He's a fraud. He reminds me of John Glenn who played up on his military record while voting for gun bans. Lots of people in Eastern Ohio (mining, agriculture, Appalachia)who are very pro gun rights, voted for Glenn because they couldn't believe a decorated pilot/Astronaut would be a big gun banner. Kelly is trying to do the same thing.
Brady used to lie that her Brady Bill would have stopped Hinkley. It would not have because he didn't have a disqualifying feature on his searchable record. The same is true with the asshole who killed Judge John Roll, several others and permanently crippled Gabby Giffords. And nothing Kelly pushes for, would have stopped his wife's maiming if those laws had been in place at the time she was shot. (Loughner was a drug abuser but didn't have any convictions that would have disqualified him from owning a gun-he bought the gun at a licensed dealer and went through the background check. Shortly before the shooting, he was pulled over for a traffic violation, and the officer again ran his record-which was clean)
So when people push for laws that would not even have stopped the tragedy they campaign on, you wonder what their real motivations are.
