I thought I'd drop this in here for real republicans to have some hope for their party while the trumpanzees keep trying to do their best to tear the GOP apart.

Kasich: 'I didn't leave the Republican Party. The Republican Party left me'

Ohio Republican Gov. John Kasich expressed frustration with the current state of the Republican and Democratic parties Sunday amid rumors that he could pursue a 2020 presidential run. "I'm still a Republican. I didn't leave the Republican Party. The Republican Party left me," Kasich said on CNN's "State of the Union." "In my state we have balanced budgets, surplus, we're up half a million jobs
and then people say, 'Well Kasich's not a conservative.' What does that mean?"

"Come home to where we basically live," the 2016 presidential candidate added. "We should care about people from top to bottom, not just those at the top, but everybody. I can bring that party back. That's what I'm going to do in one way or another."

Apparently Kasich didn't get the memo. The Republican party does not WANT him as evidenced by his poor showing in the presidential primaries of 16. Just saying.

Well I am not a Republican. So that being said, I had a similar conversation with someone this weekend. As a Democrat I feel the same way as Kasich does about my party.
We used to be the party of equal opportunity, not equal results as one key example.

Your talking point platitudes. They are a fail.

My point exactly. A liberal has little in common with progressives. Boomer democracts have a hard time explaining why they still vote with the party. Their answer, much like yours is that at least their folks aren't Republicans.

You are peddling GOP talking points. I'll wait for you to make your own.

He is right in that I would trust the media (as ****ty as they are) before I would EVER trust a politician. "Politicians are the last people you should trust." - John Kasich.
Godspeed, Real Republican.

I hate that train of thought. Or at least that that is where we are with politicians. They are supposed to be representatives of us. We really shouldn't be in a position to hate ourselves like that. But it seems we are.

I'm just quoting Governor John Kasich. That is along the lines of what he said, yes?

We don't care what he thinks; he's more like a democrat anyway.

No.

No, he's more like a Republican.

It's the rest of you that are the problem.

We don't care what you think either.

Yes. The GOP has run on hating government ever since Reagan. It's so counter constructive because it provides a broad-brush of dismissal and divides us so badly.

Until they're in power, then suddenly they go full-on Neoconservative Warmonger Authoritarians. They only hate Government when they're not in power, then they suddenly get a rage-boner over the fact that they now hold the reigns of government, and use it to the fullest extent of their abilities to punish "seditionists" and that, to me, has been the trend with the past several G.O.P. (Going On Pathological) administrations, including this most recent one...

When I see politicians running on that bull**** notion that "I HATE GOVERNMENT!" I just think about any other person in any other interview for a job saying such stupid ****. And would any sane person want to hire them after saying that... "I HATE THIS COMPANY! HIRE ME!"

Maybe I should have said "Neoconservative Warmonger Oligarchs" (N.W.O.)

:lamo

The Republican Party didn't leave John Kasich, the Republican Party left sanity and reality.

Perhaps one day they will find their way back.

No.
I disagree with Kasich from time to time, but he's no Democrat. I can't get Democrats to want people like me in the party, you think they want John, who is meaningfully more socially and fiscally conservative than I or other Blue Dogs are? Nope.

The more the "Never Trumpers" try to pretend that Trump is not the GOP, the more they should be laughed at. The republican party and Trumpism didn't just begin when Trump rode down that escalator, it has been around for much much longer.

What Kasich is trying to do is build a lifeboat, believing that when the Trump ships sinks, he will be safely on the island of "both sides do it" -- Nope, not going to work John.

Or "Neoconservative Warmonger Authoritarians" (N.W.A.)
Hey hey!

Need I remind you gentlemen, just a short while ago you folks were pining for us neoconservative-influenced people? Remember Russia, NATO, TPP, yadda yadda?

I disagree with Kasich's politics a lot. But I crave that the opposition be like Kasich so that reasonable debate can be had about anything. You can't debate with a GOP that screams every news is "fake news" and while they control every facet of government but are completely hobbled somehow by a "deep state" that controls them. It's pure undebateable insanity.
