The FACT is that the percentage of gun-owning household has been steady since the 70's in the U.S., and is actually down slightly in the last year or so.
The FACT is that increased gun sales are ENTIRELY driven by the same gun owners buying more and more weapons. IOW, more guns are being stockpiled by a smaller number of individuals.
The FACT is that even though only about 36-37% of households own guns in the country, half of all guns owned in the U.S are in the hands of just 3% of the adult population.

And, btw, "white guys with guns" are only about 12% more prevalent than "black guys with guns".
