The charge that the USA is the premier rogue state on the planet is pretty easy to establish once you can free yourself from applying different standards to different parties. Evidently you are struggling in this department and that's why the US seeing the ICC as something to be undermined/destroyed , even if that means by strong arming others to do so, hasn't registered for the bullying tactic it is. This fact should also tell you that it is your own reality which is the one that is highly questionable but my guess is it won't.

Applying different standards to different parties and supporting law breaking states you have an affinity with is your MO , so it's not surprising you have taken offence at my post.

Anyways, personal attacks aside, the assertion that the US is "the premier rogue state on the planet' is beyond absurd, but keep playing in that sandbox and keep getting ignored by the vast majority of the free world.

The very fact that you support authoritarian state measures being deployed by your chosen champions of the " free world " aimed at criminalizing those of it's citizens who wish to criticize the actions/policies of a state ally whilst at the same time appointing yourself as some sort of spokesperson for those living in the " free world " is wholly hysterical but probably lost on you . Though not on me I assure you

Not only that but the very double standards I spoke about pepper the article you appear to fawn over............... the PLO offices in Washington are to be closed because of their " refusal " to partake in " peace negotiations " but there is no closing of the Israeli embassy for their part in the lack of negotiations........... must be all down to those pesky Arabs trying to hold on to their rights provided to them under international laws. No such strong arming of Israel to give up any of its rights prior to any negotiations I assume

Next we read that the " Palestinian exception " is their right to refuse " peace " offers from the Israeli state whilst having the temerity to enjoy US financial and diplomatic " support " at the same time. The massive US bankrolling and crucial diplomatic support for Israel is evidently not dependent on them rejecting Arab peace proposals or offering a just settlement offer that ensures a viable Palestinian state. The MO is obviously that the Palestinians should just accept any deal offered them regardless of what the outcome would be

Palestinians are also being compelled to desist from attacks on Israel/Israelis despite the fact that they are the ones under the military occupation. Obviously there is no reciprocal demand that Israel desist from attacks against Palestinians

The laws are being drafted and enforced so as to make criticism of Israeli policies with certain comparisons illegal. There doesn't appear to be any such moves wrt the Palestinians ( or any other people/state btw ) so I suppose its okay to assume that they are still game for a racist kicking without leaving yourself open to a court appearance

And on and on.................. people should read that article for the one sided apologetics it provides and the authoritarian measures it champions................ classic example of what I was referring to

It's only absurd if you allow yourself to indulge, massively , in self delusion and selective amnesia...............

The Oxford Dictionary's definition of rogue state reads as,"A nation or state regarded as breaking international law and posing a threat to the security of other nations.". Thus by this definition countries like the USA, Russia, Israel, Iran, Turkey and Saudi Arabia are rogue states as they are both regularly breaking international law and they do present a real threat to certain other nations around them.

Where the USA is unique among rogue nations is in its power and its systematic campaign to dismantle the apparatus and organs of international law by as Mr. Bolton said "any means necessary" if these international legal institutions in any serious way constrain or limit its actions internationally. The USA breaks international law routinely in human rights (torture, rendition, confinement without due process), economics (ignoring international trade dispute mechanisms and their rulings) and in military operations (Iraq, Syria, Yemen, Africa, etc.).

Israel is much the same, albeit at a much lower level and confined largely to its immediate region.
