Joe Biden: My VP pick will be a woman

Apparently the left don't have jobs either because they are always running off to pink hat rallies and the like. Showing up to interfere with funerals for war veterans. Destroying public property because it offends them.

What was the turnout at the last Trump rally you attended?

Harris would likely have had Klobuchar's level of support, had she stuck the race out to South Carolina.

Obviously, she realized her best chance at VP was to drop out early.

He has great support among blacks & has California electoral in the bag. He doesn't need Harris.
Klobucher to cement Minnesota or Warren to make a dent in Bernie territory would be the wiser choices.
I bet he would pick Sherrod Brown from Ohio but after tonight that's unlikely!

Joe Biden announced that he's going to pick a woman as his Vice Presidential candidate. Who will he pick? Is this a good idea to pick a woman instead of being open to picking a man?

Here are some real possibilities:

FORMER 2020 PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATES

Tulsi Gabbard - Congresswoman from Hawaii
Kamala Harris - U.S Senator from California
Amy Klobuchar - U.S Senator from Minnesota
Elizabeth Warren - U.S Senator from Massachusetts

CURRENT SENATORS

Tammy Baldwin - U.S Senator from Wisconsin
Tammy Duckworth - U.S Senator from Illinois
Maggie Hassan or Jeanne Shaheen - U.S Senator from New Hampshire, former Governor of New Hampshire

CURRENT GOVERNORS

Michelle Lujan Grisham - Governor of New Mexico
Gretchen Whitmer - Governor of Michigan

U.S CONGRESSWOMEN

Val Demings - 10th district from Florida
Veronica Escobar - 16th district from Texas (Beto O'Rourke's seat)

OTHER CANDIDATES

Stacey Abrams - Georgia House of Representative, former candidate for Governor of Georgia
Michelle Obama - Former First Lady of the Unite States
Susan Rice - National Security Advisor under President Obama
Sally Yates - Deputy Attorney General for President Obama, fired from her post by President Trump in 2017 after one month.
Man, you did such a through job in your OP - that there's not much left to talk about! :2razz:

Sarah Palin, she’s making a comeback.

She sang I like big butts on the masked singer, clearly an effort to court the black vote

Obviously, he'll be choosing either Harris, Warren, Klobuchar, or Abrams.

It's got to be one of those four.

Very likely or so it could seem presently although Stacy Abrams is Yale Law and takes no prisoners in her ideological and personal style and manner so I'd rather see Abrams as AG.

As AG Abrams would make the mass of rightwing Confederate and Trumpist racists in the USA into toast. Give 'em incentive to relocate to White Russia where they belong ideologically and where their heart is.

Indeed, black Americans know four more years of Trump means every kind of harm that could come to 'em and that it's the rightwing Confederate Trumpist racists who will do the damage without restraint by a reelected Dictator Potus Trump.

Abrams for AG, definitely the perfect choice for the position, role, mission.

Hickenlooper beating Gardner pretty handily at the moment.

Kinda figured. I like Hickenlooper... he was my first pick for the Democratic nomination.... but Gardner is one of the good ones in the Republican Caucus. I've got to hand it to him... he's good at his job, even if he doesn't have it much longer.

Good list!

Tulsi, no way. Michelle Obama clearly expressed an unwillingness.

I expect Biden to win the nomination and to announce a VEEP from your list.

My Dream pick (low probability): Val Demings. She'd help put my home state of FL in play in a major way! Trump, IMO, cannot win reelection without Florida's 29 EVs.

Viva the Anti-Trumper Movement!
Whoa. Was unaware. But man, I'd love to win FL. I do not see a path for Trump without FL.

What was the turnout at the last Trump rally you attended?

Funny you would ask that question.

I personally know that for the rally he had in Colorado Springs, there were people who took the night off from work on the Sunday and then took the day off on Monday to sit out and hope for a chance to get into the arena.

Talk about shiftless mother****ers.

Kamala Harris would be a great pick. When she dropped out of the race Biden said he would be open to choosing her as VP.
And she's a fighter! That's what I like about her.

*LOL* All depends on how badly Brown wants the VP nomination, I guess.

I'm thinking Klobuchar.... she's solid in the key electoral states (Wisconsin, Michigan, and Pennyslvania) and she's an effective legislator who's very capable of assuming the top job.

I was thinking Harris as well.... but California is safe, and I'd rather have her as a potential AG.
And she'd be a good one!

Obviously, he'll be choosing either Harris, Warren, Klobuchar, or Abrams.

Agreed. With the possible long-shot possibility of Val ... from FL. I can see the strategy in bringing along FL - if she could do it - I don't know.

How's the Senate race shaping up out there, LM?

If I had to make the call today, I'd give a 'very' slight edge to Hickenlooper, with Romanoff right on his heels. As I'm sure you're aware, we are about as purple of a state as there is. I'm sensing that Gardner is going to pay a price for rubber stamping some/most of Trump's policies, as well as his behavior. But it's really too early to really get any real indication as to who will get the seat. We are a very progressive state, which, of course, bodes well for the Dem nominee.

What do you want me to tell you, Craig? If you want to read her record, go look it up on Wikipedia. She always struck me as being tough on crime and a strong defender of civil rights. To me, that's a good mix. Tough, but fair... what else do you want from an AG?

I've watched her since she was in San Francisco and have never seen anything much good, only controversial things.

I don't think she would... not as a Representative. If she were Governor or Senator, I could see her being a contender.... but I pretty much rule out anyone who hasn't won a Statewide office.

And she's a fighter! That's what I like about her.
Any of the women at the top of the field would be fine picks, IHMO.

The key is for Biden to get someone that voters think "this will be the president in 2024", because we all know Biden is likely going to be a one term show.

Harris and Klobuchar seem to be the best bets for excitement there.

Well... Trump had over 270 even without FL in 2016

Then he spent the next 3 1/2 years violating a pretty important rule...

Tis better to remain silent and have people think you are an idiot than to open ones mouth and remove all doubt.

That's my fear & my thoughts, too. I really like the idea of bringing along FL, but you are right - that generally takes a Senator or Governor. Which is why Klobuchar looks so strong, with MN bordering on both WI & IA. Three important states!

Kamala Harris would be a great pick. When she dropped out of the race Biden said he would be open to choosing her as VP.

Thats a good way for him to lose the black vote.

My bet is Warren. She jumped off the Bernie wagon and Biden is courting her. Probably a good pick. Stacey Abrams or Kamila Harris to the SC.

Yeah... every President always says it's partisan abuse when it's their Administration being investigated.

And you can't tell when they're telling the truth and when they're lying.
