Jeff Bezos Accuses National Enquirer of Blackmail

Quite simply, AMI was granted immunity for violations of campaign finance law in relation to Trump’s affairs. That immunity deal is conditional upon AMI committing no further crimes and it would seem they have violated it by extorting and blackmailing Bezos.

Still has nothing to do with Trump or the investigation into Trump.

There is a connection to Trump, which I quoted. There isn't any connection to Mueller or the Russia investigation.

I know it's hard to keep track of all the various Trump legal problems and who associated with him have been indicted and pleaded guilty to what crimes, but there are more than one line of investigations going on. Seems Trump surrounded himself with slimeballs - pick any one and it's another set of criminal activity it seems.

Sorry, it's just not there. This is an entirely different matter related to the National Enquirer. There is no relation to Trump here, at all. It's a matter of the National Enquirer going after Bezos for investigating them for their activities, so they are on the defense by going on offense.

The key question in this is why a newspaper who has been very friendly with Trump for 2 decades tried to blackmail the richest man in the world, but not for money...

You do know those activities lead right back to Trump right? I mean it's one thing to support someone's ideas politically I get that, but why do you support scumbags like Pecker? What is the logic behind that? Why is it only conservative MAGA cult members supporting Pecker? I would think that pro-business people would be more in support of the guy who delivers your stuff in two days instead of some loser tabloid writers. So as you can see even your support of Pecker goes right back to Trump.

I've been assured by AMI that it was all very legal and very cool. I'll have to get a second opinion from Roger Stone for confirmation.

Funny seeing Trumpsters who scream fake news daily now defending a rag like The National Enquirer..

They don't even realize that they are destroying their own arguments. It's not like there are some liberals defending Pecker. Nobody but allies of the President are defending Pecker. It's amazing that they just auto-defend every single scumbag in Trumps orbit. When will it stop?

I don't know if it will stop with his base. But if it comes out and is true that Trump had a hand in this extortion and blackmail. That might be enough for the Republicans in Congress to finally say enough. I doubt even they want to open that can of worms.. Politicians using the media to blackmail opponents? That's got to scare all politicians.. Even Republicans..

Bezos made a direct connection in his article. I quoted it. Not sure why you're denying what's on the written page and we can all read for ourselves. Weird sort of gaslighting I guess...

So this is going to stop the investigation or reporting on Trump how? Not at all? Got it. Back to your yoga class to keep that stretching going.

Well, it all depends on the investigation, now doesn't it??? The national enquirer was basically attempting to blackmail an owner of someone who opposed Trump, and they were involved with some very disreputable items with Trump in the past. However, it seems that an ardent Trump supporter, who did illegal things for Trumps campaign is likely to at least be heavily fined, if not go to jail. If it leads to Trump, well , he won't get indicted until he leaves office at least.

I will point out that part of the deal that the National Enquirer did to not get prosecuted for campaign finance laws is NOT to break the law for 3 years. This action against Bezos very likely violated that plea agreement, so another person linked to Trump is going to get indicted and in jail for campaign finance violations on the behest of the Trump organization.

Yes. It gives Bezos way more credit. As I outlined before. Some media organizations have definitely complied with Peckers demands (no pun intended). Some Republican politicians have definitely and quite publicly changed their entire platforms as soon as Trump got elected. *Cough* Lindsey Graham. *Cough* And let's not forget that Pecker had a safe full of Trump secrets he kept under lock and key before and during the election...

HAHAHAHA they're claiming that publication of personal dick pics from a cellphone owned by Bezos is "fair use". :lamo

As a primary matter, please be advised that our newsgathering and reporting on matters involving your client, including any use of your client’s “private photographs,” has been, and will continue to be, consistent with applicable laws. As you know, “the fair use of a copyrighted work, including such use by reproduction in copies . . . for purposes such as criticism, comment, news reporting . . . is not an infringement of copyright.” 17 USC Sec. 107. With millions of Americans having a vested interest in the success of Amazon, of which your client remains founder, chairman, CEO, and president, an exploration of Mr. Bezos’ judgment as reflected by his texts and photos is indeed newsworthy and in the public interest.

Let's, for a second, accept that Bezos is opposed to Trump and is therefore running things that way. If that's the case, then **** him. He gets what he deserves. If you can have an "against" outlet then there's nothing wrong with having a "pro" outlet.

And no one is defending Bezos infidelity either, or the stupidity of having dick pics to begin with. Honestly, I don't mind him getting embarressed at all. However, it's a point in his favor that his attitude 'There is a bigger issue at stake that my pride and dignity'. Bezos isn't the only one they tried to do that to. Terry Crews said they did something similar. The feds are getting involved in it. link It might get very very uncomfortable for Mr Pecker, and the entire AMI corporation.

What Amazon?

If that's the case, then **** him. He gets what he deserves.
What does he deserve and why?

INdeed and neither should do illegal things no matter who oe what they are pro or against.

He owns the Washington Post.

I media outlet being used as an attack dog against a person really has no room to complain if another media outlet is used as an attack dog against him. So far as anything illegal going on, that remains to be seen.

Yea, so what?

I media outlet being used as an attack dog
And when or how did that happen?

What is the attack and why is it warranted?

Yes that is true.

I answered your questions. They do not require further questions to understand them. This mean your questions are dishonest.

I am not denying that.

But they do, if to eliminate misunderstanding or dishonesty.

This mean your questions are dishonest.
If there is any it is entirely yours. Why else would you not want to be specific?

Well, considering what a major sleazeball Trump and his buddies are, I don't think is surprised that once again they're caught doing sleazy things once again. I feel sorry for Americans, having this as the face that accurately represents 1/3 of your population.

We are truly a very pathetic country at this point.

Show us please just one instance, just one, where the Washington Post has threatened to sextort anyone. Or any instance in the Washington Post ever tried to blackmail anyone by threatening to run a embarrassing or scandalous article about them unless they agreed to a, b, or c? Or just one instance where the Washington Post has payed someone for the exclusive rights to their story in order to quash and bury it. (catch and kill). And I wouldn't be too sure either about anyone not having done anything illegal here because prosecutors at the SDNY are now looking into this matter to see if Pecker and AMI have violated the terms of their immunity deal with the SDNY.

The Saudis want to improve their image. AMI accommodated them, 45 Corp., and MBS. Going after Bezos and WaPo gives cover to Kushner, 45 who have profited from the Saudis.

Aw, look at you railing against a capitalist.

Blackmail is never ever excusable.

Good article about the swine at AMI

Private Eyes Detail Inner Workings of National Enquirer ‘Blackmail’ Machine

Threatening to reveal Jeff Bezos’ “dick p*ck” was just the latest strong-arm tactic. “The nice way of calling it was quid pro quo,” one veteran said, “but really it was blackmail.”

It may have shocked the world when the publisher of the National Enquirer allegedly tried to use nude pictures to coerce Jeff Bezos. But it came as no surprise to three veterans of the Enquirer’s parent company, American Media Inc.

“The threats, the blackmail, that’s their business model,” one former National Enquirer staffer told The Daily Beast. I
