This is a long time by Nunes standards to not have blasted out some insane take from his briefing today. Must be having a difficult time bending and twisting the material into something that matches Trump's spy nonsense.

You would have thought that if that is what he had Nunes would have been all over that by now. Whats the matter Deven....another of those "who knew it would be this hard" issues?

Errrrr... Trump was not under investigation. That is the point.

He, as a candidate, should have been warned about potential problems... but that would have flown directly in the face of Obama’s public pronouncements.

Frankly, if this keeps up I have serious doubts about whether this country will continue to function in a manner anything like a democracy. There is now a critical mass of people who do not seem to care one whit for factual reality. Their overriding goal seems to be to stick it to the perceived other side while trying to protect their side.

There were hints of this under Bush, but it really heated up once Obama became a serious contender in 2007. Now we find ourselves in la-la land. They will automatically ignore anything said by someone that could in any way be read to reflect negatively on a politician they deem on their side, then take their decision to stick their head in the sand as license to make something up and act as if it's true just because they said it. I don't see a viable way for anything like our system to work if that is the attitude of 45% or so of voters.

So for them, Trump is the great deal-maker, even though.....

TPP: No deal
NAFTA: No deal
Korea: No deal
Iran: No deal
China: The deal is to promise to do things they previously promised to do.

Etc etc etc. It really doesn't matter what he actually does. If he says something and it would reflect poorly on "the left" if true, then it is treated as true. Ditto if it would reflect well on him.







I can only hope that there will remain enough sensible people to counter-balance this. Otherwise, the kind of permanent faction that so worried Madison and others might just break the system for good.

But regardless, the feds are under no obligation to inform subjects or even possible subjects of an impending investigation, nor should they. That is the point, despite Trump's protestations.

Agree with you.

The lack of care for what Trump has actually accomplished or even claims to have accomplished is the surest sign that his supporters are really all in for cultural warfare and are supporting their Cultural Warfare Commander in Chief regardless of anything else. That is really what they are after as absurd as it would seem and as stupid as it is for the country. They don't care that it will put us behind the rest of the world faster and with more surety than anything else we could try to do. China is right up our tailpipes as it is. But these people just don't care.

Hey trump is the guy that does not appear to understand the meaning of those two words. If they were not different, we would not need two of them. Although as I have posted before I do think we will no longer be able to function without Defined Terms by agency just as we have in Contract Law.

If there was not a difference, Trump would not have insisted on using "spy, spy, spy" Instead of Informant, Informant, Informant. Trump indicts himself on that score. This is his game he has been playing.

They claim they were protecting “Trump”.

How many spies did they place in the Hillary campaign?

After bending over backwards to let her off the hook for the numerous and egregious crimes she committed, these same people went doggedly after Trump... planting at least one spy.

The OP was a defense of Clapper’s lie, of no spying... but the NYT revealed a spy, now called... ROTFLOL... an informant... there to “protect” Trump.

Obama and his crew are in deep ****.

I hope the hit squad* keeps talking.

*That’s what they are, as the obvious goal was to take Trump out.

It takes a mighty dose of arrogance, carelessness to do what he and his hit squad have done. And Obama claimed he had superior judgment... this is the cherry on top revealing his judgment was beyond pathetic.

A person inside a campaign passing out information unbeknownst to the campaign may be an "informant" to those receiving the information. He's a spy to those being informed on. In the end, the result is the same.
