'It's called the First Amendment': Pundits decry Trump call for 'retribution' against 'SNL'

I haven't seen a "joke" on late night TV for a couple of years. Much of what is said borders on outright insult and personal attack. Of course, Trump might be "joking" about retribution, as well.

I've been watching SNL for more than 20 years, I've never seen the level of animosity and derangement for any other President.

So, fine, I'm not saying the MSM should not express themselves as the wish; that's their right; they just need to understand rights work both ways. Libs haven't been shy calling for boycotts on entities then disagree with - it cuts both ways.

The reason Trump has an unprecedented level of vitriol aimed at him is that he's uniquely dumb, petty and cruel himself. As dumb as W was, for instance, nobody thought he was a bigot or a retard on the same level as Trump. He was fun to mock but he wasn't a monster.

BTW, what the right has classified as "derangement" is the righteous outrage of a people who had their democracy ripped out from under them. Two different former FBI directors and countless diplomats and law experts are equally aghast at what the conservatives, who stand behind Trump, are doing to this nation.

It is not the left's anti-Trump derangement that threatens us, it is the right''s blind sychophancy and selective ignorance.

SNL isn't the media. It's an entertainment show. You do know this, don't you?

Jeesus Tres! I gave you the definition which clearly included them in the broadcasting and entertainment media. WTF?

"Fight back"? SNL has been lampooning people since the mid-1970s. Luckily for the adults in the world, nobody peed in his panties about it until Trump came along.

Thank you for admitting Obama never threatened Fox News, as ludin falsely claimed he did.

No, he did much worse. Interesting, but not surprising, to note that you completely skipped that.

Jeesus Tres! I gave you the definition which clearly included them in the broadcasting and entertainment media. WTF?

No, he did much worse. Interesting, but not surprising, to note that you completely skipped that.

You didn't give me the definition. If you're trying to say that Saturday Night Live is part of the media, then you have some serious learning to do.

Was John Belushi part of the media? Dan Akroyd? Eddie Murphy? Weekend Update wasn't real, you know.

Thanks again for admitting Obama never threatened Fox News. Poor ludin. He shouldn't have lied.

I'm not the one who is completely ignoring what the President himself said and trying to say he didn't say it. Talk about looking foolish.

Can't admit that I was on a slightly different, yet relevant topic?

Little more than bluster, you say? Interesting. Well, let me be the first to put this on wax, as they say.....considering the fact that he has in the last week proven he could give two ****s about the Constitution when it comes to getting what he wants, don't expect me to simply by that this egomaniac wouldn't try to silence those who have bruised his fragile ego.

So ensconced in the leftist talking points. So tell me, which part of the constitution has been violated? Any?

Yes, mistakes get made...**** happens...and as far as Covington Catholic is concerned, the school itself didn't have much faith in that group of kids, and they too took the kids to task, so blaming the media for things like that isn't exactly fair. Those kids own administration felt they could actually have been the aggressors.

Mistakes? That just lame.

Purposefully pushing their preferred narrative is more like it.

We have seen conservative media run with an incorrect narrative as well, so lets not act like conservative media outlets are as pure as the driven snow, alright?

It's one thing when they are commentary, and another when they try to pretend to be hard news and still push their preferred narrative. There's a difference.

No, you tied yourself in a pretzel trying to defend the idea that the President calling for investigations into people who mocked him is a good idea.

Nope. Didn't say that. Quote me where I have specifically stated that.

You didn't give me the definition.

What do you call that?
Can't even be honest enough about a provided definition provided to you.

If you're trying to say that Saturday Night Live is part of the media, then you have some serious learning to do.

Was John Belushi part of the media? Dan Akroyd? Eddie Murphy? Weekend Update wasn't real, you know.

Broadcast media? I guess you'd better tell SNL they aren't part of the broadcast media. I think they'd disagree with you.
Yes, the broadcast media as they were on SNL.
Thanks again for admitting Obama never threatened Fox News. Poor ludin. He shouldn't have lied.

Not speaking for Ludin. Still can't admit that Obama posed a threat to the Fox News journalist James Rosen?
That what the Obama admin did to Rosen was far worse than a threat?

So ensconced and consumed by the DNC issued leftist talking point.

Was John Belushi part of the media? Dan Akroyd? Eddie Murphy? Weekend Update wasn't real, you know.

So ensconced and consumed by the DNC issued leftist talking point.

Don't end your post with some bull****. I don't listen to the DNC. You are confusing me with lifelong Democrat Donald Trump.

Obama "posed a threat" to Rosen? Huh? We already know about Rosen. Did he threaten Fox News the way Trump appears to have threatened NBC? No, he didn't. Pay attention.

SNL is an entertainment show. Just like There Goes Honey Boo Boo and The Bachelor. The fact that they make Trump cry, and by extension, his supporters, shows how pathetic Trump and his Fan Nation are. It's a lampoon show and always has been. Watching you and the others cry about Baldwin lampooning Trump just shows how pathetic and weak Trump has made this country.

Jim Jones' supporters were less pathetic than Trump's are.

Can't admit that I was on a slightly different, yet relevant topic?

Different, yes. Relevant? Not so much.

So ensconced in the leftist talking points. So tell me, which part of the constitution has been violated? Any?

His attempt to end run Congressional denial of funding for his wall is where he is violating the Constitution. Have you been asleep for the last week?

Mistakes? That just lame.

Your opinion.

Purposefully pushing their preferred narrative is more like it.

So what you provided was a list of right leaning columnist providing little more than opinion that the original articles in each case were wrong. You gotta be kidding me. You are aware of the fact that the plural of anecdote isn't data, right?

It's one thing when they are commentary, and another when they try to pretend to be hard news and still push their preferred narrative. There's a difference.

Did you learn that from Rush, Sean or Big Daddy Bill? All of them profess to be passing on the real news you need to know, and then when they **** up and get called on it, they fall back on the BS of being entertainers. For ****s sake.....Fox and Friends passes itself off as a news program. Lets repeat that...Fox and Friends passes itself off as a news program.

Spare me the faux outrage.

Nope. Didn't say that. Quote me where I have specifically stated that.

How about you quote yourself anywhere saying that what he did was a bad idea? The fact that it doesn't exist anywhere kinda leaves me to believe that you think its okay, since you not only didn't call it out, but have defended it tooth and nail.

The reason Trump has an unprecedented level of vitriol aimed at him is that he's uniquely dumb, petty and cruel himself. As dumb as W was, for instance, nobody thought he was a bigot or a retard on the same level as Trump. He was fun to mock but he wasn't a monster.

It is not the left's anti-Trump derangement that threatens us, it is the right''s blind sychophancy and selective ignorance.
So, HOW exactly has "Democracy been ripped out from under you"? I'm not sure I'd place much value on the word of those two former FBI Directors, by the way. Seems like they were more interested in protecting Clinton and stopping Trump than doing the duties they'd sworn to do.

Yeah, Trump has been terrible: lowest unemployment rate ever for minorities, over have a million manufacturing jobs (you guys told us they were gone for good). Booming economy, booming stock market, more job openings than job seekers. Household income at new heights, America a net producer of petroleum, ISIS on the ropes. Yep Trump has really ****ed this country. Sorry, "derangement" IS the correct term for the mindset of you and your ilk.

Don't end your post with some bull****. I don't listen to the DNC. You are confusing me with lifelong Democrat Donald Trump.

Could have fooled me. You sure are sounding and acting like one.

Obama "posed a threat" to Rosen? Huh? We already know about Rosen. Did he threaten Fox News the way Trump appears to have threatened NBC? No, he didn't. Pay attention.

Looks like you need to pay more attention, vis-a-vie definition provided. Yeah, the one you claimed I hadn't posted?

Sure, Obama posted a threat to Rosen, considering what he and his administration did to Rosen, and Obama pulled some of the same **** as Trump and his administration has (as cited earlier). Come to think of it, so has nearly every administration, in one fashion or another, especially when they disagree with their press coverage. So I don't get all the fauxrage, squealing like stuck pigs from the press when Trump does it.

I'm not saying that SNL is a 'news media' show, however, it is an 'entertainment media' show, the larger set of which, 'media' includes both, as the definition you missed substantiates.

All of your rant after that is not applicable, as it's arguing against a position that I've not taken.
Maybe you are confused as to whom is posting what or something?

Jim Jones' supporters were less pathetic than Trump's are.

Meh. Whatever.

This is why debating with you is useless. I have yet to see you even once admit you were wrong on Trump or that Trump has done something wrong. Given that he does something wrong almost every single day (at the very least, lie about 15 times a day), your contention that you base your opinion on reality is bunk.
Maybe you're just not looking close enough. And of course I'd have just as difficult a time finding were you said anything positive about Trump.
Luckyone said:
Once again, you say I have ZERO proof and yet most of my proof is self evident and clearly reported by just about every media station, including on occasions FOX. I mean, Ann Coulter herself called Trump an idiot and a liar.
Ann Coulter offered an OPINION - if you don't understand the difference between opinions and facts that would explain your claims of "proof". I on the other had have reams of proof - numerical data from reliable sources - unemployment, manufacturing jobs, new jobs and job vacancies, pay increases, benefits increases - just a sampling of FACTS>
Luckyone said:
The problem with you is that no one can ever show you PROOF of anything because you do not accept it even if it is in black and white and incontrovertible. As such, you are lying to yourself 100% of the time and there is nothing anyone can do about that. When reality is what you make it to be, you will always be right and everyone else will always be wrong.
Not me in self-delusion, lucky. As I mentioned above I can cite any number of positive things that Trump has done. AND I have also said many times I consider him a boorish dick as a person.

Could have fooled me. You sure are sounding and acting like one.

Meh. Whatever.

Your first two lines say it all. "You're a Democrat because you don't like Trump." No, I'm a lifelong Republican who hasn't allowed a lifelong Democrat to commandeer the party for his own pleasure. I'm a lifelong Republican who doesn't sit back and cheer when Trump insults real Republicans like the Bushes and McCain.

The Trump Fans have ruined the GOP. Own it.

Different, yes. Relevant? Not so much.

His attempt to end run Congressional denial of funding for his wall is where he is violating the Constitution. Have you been asleep for the last week?

Hardly. I'm well aware the National Emergency declaration, and it has yet to be decided by the courts whether or not it is, so I'll let them decide this.

On that topic, congress should deal with the problem of border security and illegal immigration enforcement, rather than the crappy deal they put together, as, yes, it is congress' job. But since they won't do their job, and have deferred a great deal of their Constitution role and authority to the executive branch (for years already now), hardly a surprising development.

Your opinion.

Cited with facts. A well founded opinion.

So what you provided was a list of right leaning columnist providing little more than opinion that the original articles in each case were wrong. You gotta be kidding me. You are aware of the fact that the plural of anecdote isn't data, right?

While the source may or may not be from a right leaning columnist, that they are doesn't matter when facts are cited.

Most of the mainstream news media pass themselves off as 'news' programs (even some to many of the hard news ones) when all they engage in is political propaganda pushing their preferred narratives.

Spare me the faux outrage.

A calm calling out of the inconsistency is hardly fauxrage.

How about you quote yourself anywhere saying that what he did was a bad idea? The fact that it doesn't exist anywhere kinda leaves me to believe that you think its okay, since you not only didn't call it out, but have defended it tooth and nail.

I don't have to comment on things I care not to comment on. The fact, that I don't comment on them doesn't mean I don't have an opinion, heck, it may even be that we share an opinion (probably not), but you can't summarily assign me an opinion, if I don't state one. Otherwise, I get to summarily assign you an opinion too.

Meh. The political elite have failed the nation and have for some decades. This might be where we being to disagree.

The Trump Fans have ruined the GOP. Own it.

 You'd rather have Hillary in the White House?

The GOP has more energy than I can recall. That's good, because it's going to take some energy to beat back the insanity that seems to have taken hold in the Democratic base, and the most recent they've elected to congress.

Why did you just mention Hillary? I voted for Marco Rubio in the primary, and Gary Johnson in the General Election. What does Hillary have to do with me, my post, or what you all have done and allowed Trump to do with the Republican Party?

Lots of angry Republican white men have bad cases of Hillary up the ass......Doubtful any vaccine can cure it

There were offers of how to deal with the border that didn't include a wall, but ****loads of money for manpower and technology. Those offers were declined because Trump wouldn't be able to slap his name on it somewhere. Congress hasn't abdicated anything, and even if they did, its Mitchs fault for letting himself get cucked by a rank amatuer.

While the source may or may not be from a right leaning columnist, that they are doesn't matter when facts are cited.

The "facts" in question aren't actually facts. They are the oft repeated conglomeration of some peoples opinions.

Most of the mainstream news media pass themselves off as 'news' programs (even some to many of the hard news ones) when all they engage in is political propaganda pushing their preferred narratives.

At least they have the courage to claim to be news instead of pretending to be news until they **** up and then claiming entertainer status.

Does that last part sound like anyone we know? Maybe EVERYONE on Fox News? I mean for God's sake.....the ****ing station CALLS ITSELF NEWS. More than 90% of thier programming is opinion.

You should pick up the phone....the kettle is calling to remind you of something.

A calm calling out of the inconsistency is hardly fauxrage.

Except you are only calling out one side for the inconsistency. THAT is fauxrage.

Ecofarm is famous for doing that. Now you too?

You didn't NOT comment on it. You have defended it with every post. That is the difference.

So I am left to believe one of a couple things:

You don't have **** else going on and you are just looking to fight.
You believe what you are typing, and by extension, what I claimed.
You are the greatest parody account I have ever encountered.

Why did you just mention Hillary? I voted for Marco Rubio in the primary, and Gary Johnson in the General Election. What does Hillary have to do with me, my post, or what you all have done and allowed Trump to do with the Republican Party?

If you have ever watched the TV show Archer, conservatives screaming "Hillary" is the equivalent of Dr. Krieger screaming "Smokebomb" and walking out.

Why did you just mention Hillary? I voted for Marco Rubio in the primary, and Gary Johnson in the General Election. What does Hillary have to do with me, my post, or what you all have done and allowed Trump to do with the Republican Party?

Because there were only 2 candidates that had a serious chance at winning that election.
