It’s not just the leaders: Citizens of G-7 countries have also soured on America

I really have not seen any indication that approach would work with them. Politics have become a sport of demagoguery. They rule through fear mongering. The left is convinced the world is going to end under Trump and the right was convinced the world was going to end under obama. Who do you suppose was telling us all the world is going to end.

I'm talking about Trump's bedside manner, or astounding lack of it.
If you have examples of foreign leaders engaging in demagoguery and fear mongering, I am eager to look them over.

I'm not fear mongering, I'm saying Trump has horrible manners, and his schtick isn't playing well in Quebec.
That's not even remotely a "leftist" observation at all, because it has nothing to do with me being liberal, as I've repeatedly said that even if we'd ended up with another Republican other than Trump, things would not be nearly so horrible on this and other fronts.
I even said I'd take Pennywise the Clown over Trump, even if he was a Republican.
I am not saying that the world will end, I am saying that his actions are going to isolate us in trade, and even if US manufacturing were to think of tooling up to take up the slack, that will take an enormous amount of time, and it would require certainty, and with Trump, uncertainty is the coin of the realm.
Would YOU, as a CEO of a company, place your bets on investing in reviving a moribund domestic manufacturing infrastructure in such an environment?

I get what your saying. He does not act like or talk like or dress like the other kids so your concerned none of the other kids is going to play with him. The thing is he has all the best toys and they are going to come over to play despite him being different.

Your criticism is over his style more than his substance. He isnt asking for unfair things.

Ultimately i think its premature to judge if what he is doing is good or bad but i dont really care if he is pissing off the cool kids if he improves our country as a result of it

What is he asking for? I am serious. Nobody knows. Articulate in very specific terms in what you think he wants. Nothing vague like "a fair deal" or "a good deal for Americans". Articulate exactly what you think he wants. Nobody knows.

There is no substance. He says whatever pops into his head.

What makes you think those people are pur freinds?

Sent from my SM-G920P using Tapatalk

Gee bud, what makes us think that England, Germany, Japan, France, etc are our friends?

How about the decades of alliance and the support they've given us in war(Australia, New Zealand and South Korea all sent quite a few troops to Vietnam, for instance) just for starters?

The people who dont like are not our freinds

So in other words, the countries which have shed blood alongsides us for years and put their asses on the line even under the threat of nuclear war aren't our friends......because they don't like an narcissistic draft dodger who hates POWs.

You Trump supporters really do live in a fantasy world

Actually, he IS asking for unfair things.
For instance, he wants the tiny six billion dollar Canadian dairy industry to open themselves to US dairy export.
That will spell the END OF THE Canadian dairy industry, just as surely as US corn exports put Mexican farmers out of business.

According to him he wants other countries to open their markets to allow american companies an equal opprotunity to compete. If not he is closing our markets to them. He wants everyone to play by the same rules.

Do you consider people who steal from you, your freind

The people who are in power right now are not our freinds. They are using us. They have been telling us for years how america is the problem and how the woes of the world is our fault. Hell even the american left is convinced of that. No they are not our freinds.

So its ok for canada to protect their domestic industries by using tariffs but trump is being unfair for doing the same thing? Thats assuming thats what canada is doing.

Trump wants to increase domestic production here too.

Go look at some of what's being discussed in Low Down's thread.

Oh puuuuh-leeze, this is starting to sound ridiculous now.
Are you really going to sound the patriotism siren and red bait everybody who doesn't agree with you?
Jeezus, it's not even 10:00 AM.

That's a rather generalized statement.
That's like saying, "what's wrong with the flag, Mom and apple pie?" while others are talking specifics.

I guess the entire Yukon Province is going to have to get used to powdered and canned milk from now on ;)

So you want us to be hated by the democratic world and laughed at by the dictators, because that is what is happening right now.

If those democratic worlds and dictators are pissed because they see their gravy train leaving the station, then absolutely.

Oh puuuuh-leeze im just pushing back against the idea that people, who are telling us the world's problems are our fault as a means to use our strength to clean up the messes around the world, are our freinds. Just because they are not our enemies don't make them our freinds and with freinds like who needs enemies

How exactly are our allies "stealing from us"?

And no, trade deals that you don't like are not the same thing as stealing.

Lol how exactly are they "using us"? The Baltic States--- the ones most at risk from Trump's best pal Vladimir--- more than meet their defense spending contributions.

Our allies like England followed us into Afghanistan and even Iraq. They didn't need to in the first place and yet they did.

How quickly Trumps "patriots" forget about the sacrifices of others eh?

When you start deflecting with the russia stuff you have shown you have no intention of an honest discussion.

Ah yes, the usual desperate attempt by conservative to avoid facing the massive crush Trump has on Putin.

Once again, Trump's whining about NATO is nonsensical, especially when you consider that the countries most at risk from his pal are the ones who do meet their contribution requirements.
