But I would not put it past the Democrats to engage this line of action even without bipartisan buy-in, even though it would be to the detriment of the nation on the whole from a divisive perspective. Before the blue wave I predicted that Paul Ryan would be our next president. Now it looks like it will be Nancy Pelosi.

I think it will be revealed that Flynn was instructed to lie by Trump and Pence knew. Pence will go down too.

I'm sure you're beginning to realize (as you are clearly fairly sharp) that some of these guys, this one in particular, their entire psyche is based on non stop worship and defense of Trump. I think what it boils down to, is even if they didn't watch "The Apprentice" they totally bought that image of him, and they literally can't fathom that it wasn't real.

I chalk it up to an addiction to right-wing media. The angry man on the radio always yelling about something they should fear, and how there is some master savior who alone can make their feelings less terrified, if they are not foiled by the evil (fill in the blank) first. It is a general lack of intellectual curiosity, and the accompanying laziness that enjoys the comfort of someone else telling them what to think.

It's not a judge's job to play the part of a defense attorney.

In this case, the prosecution made a charge. The defendant plead guilty. The judge passed the sentence.

Nobody argued whether the charge was even valid or not. Nobody presented facts that prove Trump actually did what Cohen said he did.

All we have is Cohen's words...and his words aren't worth much.

Well that is simply inaccurate through and through.

The Judge has a sworn duty to only accept a valid charge that is supported by accompanying evidence to validate its veracity and accuracy. It is required for sentencing. The SDNY presented facts that prove Trump did what their corroborating evidence validates he did. Again, this was required for sentencing. Please, become better informed on how our court systems work, in particular with plea agreement and sentencing. If you had even a cursory understanding here, you would be pretty embarrassed over this post.
