It has been said repeatedly by some over the years that the United States is not ready for a black President. Is the Obama Presidency proof of this?

I do not agree with that. Obama's presidency has been filled with hyper partisanship, social concerns, and various disappointments. But, that has less to do with him being black and more to do with him being a liberal Chicago style politician. With all that implies.
Our issues with awakening racism and social cohesion concerns is again about his character, and the character of those around him. It does not mean that everyone that is black thinks the way Obama does, but it does mean that having the wrong first black President has had some concerns that others might have avoided.
It is then similar to saying we would be ready for a female President. The right female President, because in the end it all comes down to what defines the person and not some list of physical attributes.
The white male used to be (as Ralph Kramden put it) "the king of the castle"; now he's the ogre. "We still have the power," says Washington-area computer-software editor Neil Froemming. "But nobody likes us." The truth is, lots of folks never did; it's just that now they're not afraid to say so. The white guys who run the business world, a 36-year-old female trucking-company executive recently told a Pittsburgh paper, are "a bunch of shallow, bald, middle-aged men with character disorders. They don't have the emotional capacity that it takes to qualify as human beings. The one good thing about these white, male, almost-extinct mammals is that they're growing old. We get to watch them die."
But is the white male truly an endangered species, or is he just being a jerk? It's still a statistical piece of cake being a white man, at least in comparison with being anything else. White males make up just 39.2 percent of the population, yet they account for 82.5 percent of the Forbes 400 (folks worth at least $265 million), 77 percent of Congress, 92 percent of state governors, 70 percent of tenured college faculty, almost 90 percent of daily-newspaper editors, 77 percent of TV news directors. They dominate just about everything but NOW and the NAACP; even in the NBA, most of the head coaches and general managers are white guys. So now they want underdog status, too, and the moral clout that comes with victimhood?

What kind of a question is that? He has done some damage, that is true, but I had been afraid he would be much worse. After all, he had as good as no experience. Considering his credentials at the time, we can consider ourselves much more lucky than we deserve for that dumb decision.
I don't agree with such a premise.....also, what BO peep has done, really has nothing to do with the skin job he sports. It has to due with his own make up and what makes him up. He has never been a leader and never showed such capabilities.
OS mentions Chicago style politician.....yet he wasn't ever really considered to be a Chicago Politician. Was never in the knowing about much of anything with Chicago Politics, other than thru people he knew.
Even when he ran against Boobie Rush for the Congressman seat and lost. BO peep tried to play with what is in his Nature. Act like a friend.....then stab someone in the back so he could move up politically. Just like he did with Carol Mosley Braun when he ran for her seat. Bobby Rush was hip to that type of BS and turned the tables against him easily crushing him in that Election. So much so.....that Michelle was going to dump BO peep and look elsewhere.
Truly even the bruthas around here don't think much of him. The Latinos its the same. Its not like he is considered hip, cool, is someone who is respected and thought of highly. He has never had this until he won the Presidency, and the Liberal MS Media in his corner. Naturally BO was about the Grift his first time out. Hence his message of, we all are Americans. We are one etc etc.
People thought he would bring the Country together. All from his flowery speeches. He had the Right message.....then reality set in and BO peep went back to his character and nature. Which is why you have seen him stab those who he was friends with and got him to where he is at.....in the back. Not many are left with him. His inner crew with Jarrett, Martin Halverson are the ones that he wont screw over. Anyone else will be used so he can make use of a stepping stone.
We have seen this even play out with our own Allies and how BO has treated them. Even how he treated those in the press that favored him. Note: one would have thought BO would be closer to Jesse Jackson rather than Al Sharpton. Yet who does BO give ear to? He has never been about bringing people together. Never!
Oh, and that BS that he wants to work with Republicans.....Only when in front of a camera. As the only Republican BO worked with. Was Lugar and only to be used due to Lugar being the Chair of the Foreign Relations Committee. So BO could learn a little bit about overseas politicians and Leaders which he had hardly any knowledge of.

Come on MMC. Of course BO peep (LMAO) has done his share of damage. But you can't ignore that his opponents have tried to use the issue of his race against him.

As the title of that article implies, we seem to be using paranoia to manufacture an avoidable problem. We use race way too often to define someone only to later realize that is the overwhelming majority of the problem as source. Paranoia about race is then both a source and product of the problem, not just a source. It tends to create a vicious cycle. How we look at others is a terrible consequence of that problem. I still contend the right black president (and consequently the right first female president) can avoid this by their character. It just may be a premium these days given modern day politics.
You people can say what you want, BUT EVEN HILLARY CLINTON TRIED TO CAPITALIZE ON OBAMA'S RACE! THAT'S HOW BAD IT IS!!! :lamo
Not the majority of them.....but that's not to say BO and his supporters wouldn't use the same tactic from the opposite end. Which is always demonstrated now, after 6 years of failed policy where the Big Boys play. On the World Stage where it matters most.
The people got what they wanted.....now its nothing but buyer's remorse for the majority.
Your video has her talking about polling among demographic groups. That is not capitalizing on some one's race. Either you did not watch the video or you seriously misrepresented what was on it...

I didn't misrepresent anything. She is clearly playing to race. NO DOUBT ABOUT IT!!
