So, Bernie is being helped by the Russians, supposedly with the end game of making it easier for Trump to win re-election. Does Russia know what they are doing?

I do not understand it at all. Every head-to-head poll shows Bernie Sanders and Donald Trump are close, somewhere around 50% chance of winning. So there is certainly a good chance Sanders will beat Trump in November (assuming he wins the nomination). What is Russia thinking?

I don't think Russia gives a darn who wins. As long as they sow distrust in our election process, they win. Quite a lot of democrats today believe Trump won because of Russia when in reality it was Hillary's laziness, her inept and ho hum campaign among many other reasons. But there is no convincing a lot of Democrats of that. To them Trump is illegitimate. Their goal was to divide us, Russia succeeded at that.

Sow more distrust in our election process for 2020, then whoever wins will be viewed by the other side as illegitimate, a Russian pawn. We become more divided and more angry at the other party. Russia has us playing their game.

That lie is only believed by the those that are easily manipulated truly uninformed. If there was any proof Trump would no longer be president. The democrat's would have had an easier time proving the earth is the center of the universe.
Yes, that lie is believed by the tds-infected Trump followers. But the Russian RT Trump black op has failed: no legs and has died.

I think the gap is larger than that, and, yes, Trump will lose.

Why shouldn't the Russians back Sanders? After all, he espouses the same basic ideology they do. He's their perfect match, or nearly so. Sanders, a man who admires Castro would have no trouble admiring past and present Russian leaders. A regular mutual admiration society.

Real Americans won;t trust anything that Russia says or does. Not for about 25 years'er so; depending on how it goes with "President Bernie Sanders" who can - do anything he wants.

Russia isn't backing Trump over Bernie or vice-versa. They are for whoever gets the most Americans yelling at other Americans.

Putin's ultimate goal would be to somehow convince every Trump supporter he's pushing for Bernie, and convince every Bernie supporter that he wants Trump to win. Can he pull it off? Very likely, if this thread is any indication.

The FBI told Bernie in secret that the Russians are supporting his campaign. Somehow that information leaked.

Was that before or after the FBI got FISA warrants and began spying on Bernie's campaign and tapping his phones?

Sorry, I was thinking about Trump. Different rules for D's and R's. One gets a full briefing from the FBI, the other gets spied on.

That's exactly my point. What would the left want Trump to do, say meaningless words that he is not going to let it happen, like Obama set red lines in the sand and disregarded them, like when Obama's intelligence told him that Russia was trying to interfere in our elections and Obama told Russia to please stop and eventually told his people to stand down and let it happen? I must point out however, that Democrats picked up seats in the midterms so Trump & Co must have done something to slow Russian interference. But, your question is a good one. What can Bernie do? Nothing. What can Trump do, not much. The left are only interested in lip service while the problem continues on. Bernie denounces the Russian interference propping him up while counting the votes and delegates that Russia gave him and telling his supporters that he is going on to win the nomination, even if it was Russia who helped him win it. The honorable thing for Bernie to do would be to drop out to show Russia that he refuses to be the benefactor of their help.

Trump is actively seeking out their help, refuses to punish them, refuses to push GOP to pass bills on Moscow Mitch desk for protecting our elections, and yes, refuses to drop out of the race even though Russians are trying to help him too - that last one was your own suggestion for Bernie.

Trump is in a position to do a lot of those things. Sanders is not.

I picked other.A democrat controlled presidency would benefit the Russians more than a republican controlled presidency can. Democrats tend to be viewed as kissing the asses of anti-war trash while republicans tend to be viewed as kissing the asses of the military industrial complex.

According to Trump, according to Putin, the Russians are not doing anything at all.

and who you gonna trust, Putin and Trump or the United States Intelligence agency's?

Mind blowing.

Would that be the same United States Intelligence agency that attempted to illegally overthrow Trump even before he was sworn into office?

I tend not to trust intelligence agencies that attempt an illegal coup d'état, but I'm not the least bit surprised that you do.
